Who has that idea? What frame of mind comes up with that process? Creepy.
I have and will, eat almost anything. I tried some of almost every country’s ‘specialty’ foods in my travels around the globe. But liver is something I’ve never liked, even as a kid!
But gelding has been used in livestock for the same purpose as with the capon, that makes sense. And it’s an economical use of what would otherwise be useless roosters so it’s fairly normal practice.
That’s something I haven’t had. I would expect it to be tough. How do you cook it?
If you parboil it first that tenderizes it
pan fried is the best
Cut it with your fork lol
I’ve eaten a lot of insects etc. in foreign places, the street food can be almost anything in Asia lol. You know all about that. I could understand why they ate them.
For not being cured? Not bad. Cut and hung 12 days, deseeded then decided to try a sample. Total was 22g from her, nothing impressive, but she was just a little girl grown for seed, so flower wasn’t the goal anyway. And considering this flower was grown with seed, I look forward to growing her offspring without seeds Not very skunky smelling yet, but a sweet but kinda poopy smell. The high so far was pretty nice, coming in at two hits and I got a nice head high. I can only imagine it will get even better with some age / cure time.
And I think my curing tent is doing the job, none of my recent jars even remotely have that “grass” smell. Very pleased with that…
As Johnny said …also deer heart never sees my freezer
I always was too. With life issues, my girls took over. Still haven’t got my furniture that has been a full year. I don’t know if I will get it back from them or even if I want too.
It was just we always packed up our dishes and went to Papas & Grandma’s house.
Now the daughter’s do it and G-ma is the one to travel.
EDIT: I’ll take the liver you keep the heart. I just need someone to cook it. I don’t like to touch it raw.
Deer liver might be too stout for me. I will eat as many chicken livers as are available though!
Our deer here are corn, soybean and alfalfa feed.
I do this all the time! At work they call it “hiding” though.
My first job outta college, the warehouse supervisor was NOTORIOUS for hiding spots and napping, management even knew and as long as shit got shipped, didn’t bust his balls. I found some “unique” clubhouses / nap areas in my time there, including a TV / VCR setup and mini fridge! Talk about taking it to the next level!!!
@JohnnyPotseed howdy brother. hope you had a merry Christmas. was wondering how those AG’s are doing. Would love to see some pics on progress. cheers!!
Having one of my ‘bad’ days cuz sorry
I’ll get some up in the next few days hopefully
it’s not a problem brother. feel better my friend
Not much of anything is getting done by me today, other than chilling right here in this chair and smoking like a burnt out diesel.
Went out for errands this morning, including dropping another batch of envelopes at Post Office. By the time we got through doing all the running around needed and back home, I was about as useless as screen doors on a submarine.
Hope you feel better Johnny, I’m pretty burnt after the holiday runaround myself, kick back and relax man
Good Morning OG!
Good Morning Mr.Johnny and OGers!
