Fact of Life No. 17. Bad Shit Happens to Good People.
Damn, I’m sorry Johnny. I can’t help but sit here and try to think of ways to help. Maybe another auction?
I remembered that you guys are out this way, but I was visiting my folks in Norman, along with my 2 brothers, their wives, and I’ve also got cousins, aunt’s and uncles out this way. There wasn’t any time for me to be doing a tour of Oklahoma this time around!
With all this family here though, you know I’ll be back, and when I am I’ll make sure you know!
That’s a lesson I’ve seen played out my entire life, sadly. I didn’t realize it til later on but it definitely holds true.
@JohnnyPotseed screw this medical insurance scheme in the US. I mean Elon’s taxes this year were over 11billion Dollars. I know that a drop on the bucket for caring for the American people, but I’m sure his taxes will just go toward military spending or something similar.
Regardless, I’d sell my place for my wife also. It would be hard, but I’d do it in an instant.
“HOME - Bengston Research” https://bengstonresearch.com
Check out this guy’s research. Its all about being skeptical, but focusing your intentions to make changes. Very interesting stuff. Not trying to be woo woo, or give false hopes, just had to say I feel intentions have a power of their own.
I always heard they won’t come after you or take your stuff away because of medical bills. Maybe an Urban Myth.
But it does make one wonder. People who have absolutely nothing get medical care.
I hear ya bud…I just found myself in a similar boat, just without the medical issues…
Own my home outright, family bought it in 1979… Always been a private lake community / private roads. Well, one bitchy woman up the street complained about the paving jobs (they DO seem to always pave in front of the board members houses before elsewhere), so the lake is trying to get the township to take ownership of the road.
Township sends out a survey, I got it in the mail yesterday. Do we want to become a Town Owned Road. Uhm, as it IS, my road is a cut-thru used by WAY more people than who live on the road, you avoid a downhill / uphill and EVERYBODY already uses it as a shortcut. Might as well be town-owned. But Wait! There’s MORE!
Town says this road improvement would cost $370k… Before its up to current standards and the town can take it over (I’m guessing lack of drains / sewers?) Its in better shape than MANY current township owned roads, so it makes no sense otherwise. BUT THATS NOT ALL! They go on to say EACH homeowner may be assessed $130k, payable over 10 years, for this road improvement. YES, you read that right, $130k EACH homeowner. Uhm, lets do some maths… 15 houses on the road. $130k ea, is $1.95 MILLION. What happened to $370k to DO the improvement and WTF is the other $1.5 million for?
Mind you, my house is valued about $260k So HALF the cost of my house, to upgrade the road? If this goes thru, I AM selling and getting out of town, that will be the straw that breaks the camels back for me. As it IS I already spend over $10k a year in property taxes and have paid POA dues for 40 years here (which was supposed to maintain the road, so if the lake wants to give it to the town, perhaps the LAKE should foot the bill?)
sigh… the BS never ends does it??
I’ve had folks suggest a ‘go-fund-me’ setup. Not gonna happen, it’s just that other folks are in a lot worse shape, I feel like that’d be akin to starting one up for an Island vacation! Shit happens, old saying, that @BigMike55 used and I’ve used also my whole life…
I’ve been down to living in a vehicle before. Just didn’t figure to be there ever again lol
All I can say about it is this… F’IT, it is what it is and will be what it be! As long as I got my baby here with me, I’m good to go.
Thanks for that link man.
I do energy healing, it’s already been tested a lot in the UK and is proven to speed up recovery and healing in what are classed as non recoverable ilnesses.
6 years ago I had a work accident, which ruptured all the cervical disks in my neck and pushed all the spinal fluid out from around my spinal cord.
I have been frustratingly dealing with workers compensation since then, my final court hearing is this Feb with the ombudsman.
My neurologist and also my neuro surgeon, had both said, it will onIy get worse and if didn’t get their scary operation, I would be in a wheel chair within 5 years.
I like a challenge lol, so started implenting a self healing program last year, whenever I meditate I would focus on my neck and visualize it as it was before my injury functioning perfectly well and pain free.
Also last year in May I started to do intermittent fasting eating only in a 2 hour period every day, as well as 5 or 6 day fasts once a month combined with a low carb diet.
Because the WC have been dragging this process out, I have had an MRI roughly every 18 months, and since stopping work the regression has slowed and the last, 4 months ago, showed there is some improvements.
My last visit to my neurologist was 3 weeks ago as I had just seen the WCB doc who was testing me for a pmi, and saying that there was basically only a 3% impairment lmao.
So my neurologist looks at his report and says well if he is correct that would be a miracle. He does all the tests and said, we’ll you definitely have improvement in your muscle reflexes which I can’t understand, but the rest is no where near what he is saying.
I watched a doc on Utube who explains body bio hacks, you can do it fast with money and mediCal procedures or slower naturally through diet, fasting and meditation.
Our bodies replicate them selves fully at a cellular level completely every 7 years, some parts more often. Due to the damage to our mitochondrial dna the new cells that are created don’t get all the information to replicate as a completely new original cell and that’s what causes us to age and develop disease.
This Doc goes to Mexico and has a liter of bone marrow sucked out of his hip bone, it then washed and all the mitochondria are injected back into his body all over. This reverses his bodies age dramatically. His wife had the same problem I have, she went through the procedure twice focusing more on her neck and now no longer has any damage.
Fasting clears out all the damaged cells and junk in our bodies and replicates the higher levels of mitocondrial production as well as growth hormone that rebuilds our bodies that the medical procedure the doc does its just a slower process.
In the last 9 months, I have lost nearly 100lbs my BP is that of someone at age 18 to 20 and nearly all of my arthritis has gone. I believe another couple of years of self healing meditation combined with the fasting, and my neck will be healed to the point where I can do all the things I was doing prior to my accident.
That’s good you’ve found a way to help yourself cuz
Holistic healing methods of various types have been around long time and I do believe a lot of them work, to a degree. I don’t, however, fell they’d do the trick for the wife’s case. Cancer isn’t something to treat lightly. Even though the ‘holistic’ approach could help her to some small degree, it won’t make the cancer just up and leave her body.
But I do appreciate your sharing.
Cancer feeds on carbs and sugars, a low or 0 carb diet with intermittent fasting, if the medical treatment is not causing a lack of appetite anyway, will greatly improve her bodies healing ability to kill off the cancer.
What’s your wife’s first name if you care to share that info, you can pm me it if you want, I will add her to my absent healing list, so I can focus some positive vibes to her when I meditate.
I’ll take any assistance offered truly cuz Her name is Rose and thnx
I’ll do the same with my meditation. I’ve finally been able to make time every day for it! Until winter ends probably.
I love your experience @Shadey . Glad you’ve been able to show some proven change. I’ve always been interested in the un or little known. It sucks that the folks exploring this stuff feel like they’ll be discredited by their peer and superiors.
I’ve been using yoga and meditation to help relieve my back pain from an auto accident years ago. I definitely feel better most days than before I used to use this regimen ~6 months ago.
Sending out good intentions for your Rose.
Exclusively it seems.
Never put anything past the vultures.
Jersey’s gonna Jersey. That sucks man. I can’t believe your neighbors are excited to pay that though either so hopefully it doesn’t pass.
@JohnnyPotseed I know you feel weird starting a gofundme and I know I would too. It’s something I’d second guess the whole time while feeling bad about people donating, while I think “was there another way to fix this I missed, could what came to me have made a bigger difference for someone else?”. The truth is you got dealt a shit hand and if it’s the difference between her treatment and having a home for her to recover in that’s exactly the type of situation that site exists for. There is zero shame in it and while you’re debating it the next guy in a similar situation is saying fuck it and posting his gofundme. Sometimes a “miracle” is just a handful of people who want to put some good in the world so you might as well put your name in the hat.
We’ve (the wife and me) discussed this cuz
We both say we’d just feel like a ‘begger’ if that makes sense. We’d rather be ‘homeless’ with a camper to live in, and let the others with worse needs than ours get any help out there.
We’ve already been half-ass planning and discussing what we can do. We have the jewelry to fall back on and can travel the country like we did before. Flea markets, festivals, county fairs, pow wows, rodeos, tractor pulls, mud bogs etc or just set up for weekends here and there, like at gas stations, truck stops etc. That’s a lot of options there.
There are places we can park without it costing us, friends and relatives, and we have my SS income (not much there lol)
Selling this place doesn’t mean squat to me really. Her health does mean something to me though.
We have stuff we can sell, and that’s more than a lot of folks have. I’m already in the process of listing things… if things don’t get better, well then we can sell out and go on with our life in whatever manner we can.
I wish you the best of luck either way you decide to go man, just trying to let you know that while I understand feeling like a beggar no one else is viewing it that way in the slightest. If anyone else on OG was dealing with the same situation you’re dealing with you probably wouldn’t consider them a beggar if they went the gofundme route, just a person that life stuck it too trying to get unstuck.
I’ll leave it at that and I’m just hoping everything works out one way or the other. Out of likes already so
I’ve got 20 acres. I’m sure you could stay out here as long as you’d like,. Provided youve got an RV or something. I plan to have a couple more dwellings out here, but that’s still down the road.
If it comes to it, I’m just a couple hundred miles north of you.
I appreciate that cuz! Very OGenerous offer indeed! The wife is set on getting back to where her family and friends are all at though lol
Completely understandable. I would too. If it ever comes to that tho, just let me know.
We’ve had a couple of ‘shop trailers’ set up to pull along behind a camper or truck. Just pull up, open the awnings and go to work lol I’ve got a nice 8750watt genny dual start - easy pull or electric. So we’d have good electricity wherever.
Push come to shove, find a small piece of land back in the Carolinas, and set the camper on it until we can afford something better.
Well cuz lol put it like this. I’m gonna be traveling again, it looks like. So in our wanderings i’m sure i’ll be visiting a lot of the people I’ve met and befriends here on OG. I’m just moving my home, not leaving OG lol
‘Have Laptop, will travel’ sung to the tune of the old western TV series with Palladin lol
Have Gun, Will Travel
lol I’m getting ahead of myself, I ain’t got a laptop! But, I do have a desktop tower! lol
