How often are you giving them water?

Is it a 5 gallon bucket?
Can ya cut the bottom off then put the remaining bucket in a new one?
Edit: may allow you to install a screen and riser. :+1:t3:

That is exactly what this is for:

This may be too long. When running hydro I changed water every 2 weeks and it was oxygenated and a recirc system so always moving.

Mo I will gladly buy you a box of grobuckets to try.
If you like them you can buy more or not……

I check them every two days. As soon as the level drops enough, I add water and check the ppm in the res. I try to keep that around 650.
After what @JohnnyPotseed said, I am going to raise it to ~ 750 and go from there.

They not only have the basket but also a flag/float that tells you when to water. They are pretty much foolproof.

@Oldjoints , I just now got the cash together to send you some for helping me get to OK. Eva and I spoke about that yesterday. I’ll pay that back to you before digging a deeper hole. But, brother, I do thank you very much for the offer.

You owe me nothing!
Don’t want the money, use it to buy the buckets, that would make me happier then a few bucks.

Ah! Ok I see what they are. Pretty cool. Like an earth box but for a bucket. I used earth boxes 15-20 years ago. :+1:t3: I like it.

@JohnnyPotseed , you mentioned that you use DWC and I wanted to ask if you were using a common reservoir for multiple plants or single. The system I used was individual pots that were flooded multiple times per day by a controller pot that used nutes from a 60 gallon tank. All of this was in my green house and worked great for tomato, cucumber, pepper. Just had to manage the nutes in one tank.

I think you might have me confused with someone else, my friend. lol I don’t use a DWC. I’m old-school, use my own composted mix, amended with Worm castings, mycorrhizae, and other beneficial stuff, with perlite added for aeration… Plants go in, and buddage comes out, lol (also beans)

I believe I DID say that I had tried a lot of different systems, like several types of hydroponics, soil-less, and didn’t care for em, so kept to my old-school ways.

‘Tried’ being the key word… never stuck with any of the different methods for more than a trial run.

I had one growing from under the floor mat in my truck once. Does that count as hydro or dwc?
