skunks still do have predators not scared of the smell.
In fact most predators like to do a fish flop on dead skunks cuz they think it makes them smell better.

Hiding sents to track prey is common. Cow dogs will roll in the manure so the cows won’t smell them. How do deer react to skunks? Because that would be interesting to know because deer and rabbits here are the main animals to prey on cannabis. I ain’t talkin about the movie bambi either. Why would the terpene be activated at the bottom of the plant? It may be a very old outdated way for the plant to deter humans from discovering the plants is another suggestion I will offer.
Now that i think about it.
A skunk will spray in defense to a predator. So if you are a deer are you going to go to an area thats known to have active predators lurking about?

Theyre the main problems everywhere.
It dont help matters with fresh dirt and fish ferts, not so much rabbits and deer but critters looking for a free meal.

Want to post a couple pics of my favorite Black Domina x Jungle Spice plants. They have been pretty easy growing. These two are doing better under a 240W QB from china in a 3 x 3 than the others.
This one has a overwhelming smell. So much it had my nose running.
This one grew to have a quadfoliate stem on one side and a trifoliate on the other. I put it in a 5g pot to see what it would do.
Ive really loved growing these plants so far.

You wont regret it. The quadfoliate I have clones of. Honestly curious to know if I can find a squat plant with the Jungle Spice terps that are killing my filter. If not I think it would be fun to make a squat one with the JS terps.

2 or 3 of my 5 or 6 planted did the same…cool gene in there. Hopefully gets passed on to the (black domina x jungle spice) x platinum Cherry kush breath seeds being made!!

This one looks similar to the one I drool over everytime I open the door…lol.
Bud is almost the size of a soda can…week 6 flower in a 2 liter bottle…gonna let her go another 5 weeks for good measure.

The crystals look a lot nicer in real life…like if a silk sheet was crossed with low grit sandpaper…lol. Beautiful plant! Have a couple others in the other closet, but not accessible at the moment.
And it does have a peppery smell…I didn’t see if the seeds were labeled with a number before pitching the packaging.

I’ve seen people use that word to describe the smell of some plamts and thought it was an odd description…until I smelled this one.

Well I always think black pepper when someone says “peppery”. Now that I think about the smell of green peppers, I have had some stem rubs with similar smells but it was not a feature in the flowering cycle.
I still have a few vials from the jungle spice run. Looking forward to the green one.
