Wild Hemp

How to Control It
U.S. Department of Agriculture, 1971 pamphlet, ex libris, very good.
Oh fuck that’s a cool one, pretty dank graphic design for an anti- pamphlet haha
1988 and there was a famine in the uk so 1st visit to the Dam for supplies. Came back with a full prison pocket. I remember meeting Ben Dronkers, in the drugs museum and talking to him about the big plant he had growing in there. I think the sensi seed bank was being run from here but I could be wrong. The Dam was very, very sketchy in those days. Silver haze is the unlabelled.
Very cool stuff, thanks for sharing, much appreciated!
That is awesome!
Thanks for sharing.
When I visited in early 94, I bought Sensi Seeds from a little kiosk next door to the Cannabis Museum or at least that’s what I remember.
It was definitely seedy and sketchy in the red light district.
That means I may still have some remaining memory cells left. I do remember Ben had a finger in both pies, the museums and the seed shop. In 88 hash was still very much a thing in the coffee shops with some great international hash. Most of the weed was durban, thai or bush. Dont recall much skunk type weed about or I certainly didnt buy any.
The first thing I bought was skunk #1, because I had read about it in High Times.
It was very good!
I came home with Durban, Shiva Shanti, Silver Haze, Early Skunk, Skunk #1 and Northern Lights.
I remember the durban winning a cup in those days. It was proper weed. Im taking a trip down memory lane at the moment growing couple of northern lights. It decades since Ive had any. Heres to being old.
Looking at these with the northern lights in a cup these postcards must be from about a 92,93 visit.
I grew the Durban, but it’s finer qualities were wasted on me. I wanted NL and Skunk
I remember Anise seed terps and purple hues. Good up high.
Maybe off topic but anyone have BOEL calendars?
I had no idea about them until I looked at Snowhighs IG posts recently.
I’ve looked on eBay but just curious if anyone else has been looking into anything like their calendars.
Thanks in advance
I don’t think it’s off topic at all. The BOEL calendar with illustrations done by Terry Lamb was one of the publications towards the top of my want to get list for quite a while. I’ve only come across one for sale, after it had already sold. I believe it went for approximately $75. I’ve lessened my collecting so haven’t the urge anymore to go after my more sought after publications like the 76/77 BOEL calendar. I’ve since relegated to being happy with coming across some high quality scans so I can make a replica at a more affordable price point. There are a handful of vintage cannabis calendar’s from the early 70’s into the early 80’s that have a quintessential classic old school hippy vibe to them that are really cool. Have you seen some of the others? I think the BOEL calendar done up by Terry Lamb has a unique look due to his unique artistry and style. He did a lot of surf artwork too. Perhaps if he’s still around you might have success trying to contact Terry directly to ask about how to source a copy of the calendar that you’re interested in. I remember that’s what I was about to do before I started to allocate my time and resources elsewhere from collecting. Online it shows his shop in Waianae opens at 10am HST. Might be worth giving them a call? That’s where I would start if it were me. Many blessings and much love
Thanks for the info. I’ll post back if I have any success. Very cool man
I would agree with @Sbeanonnamellow that your inquiry is not off topic, you’re in the right thread for that question, thanks for contributing.
If anyone has any BOEL calendars or images of them, please post them here.
I have this book in mint condition. Looking to sell. Any idea of value and where to go to sell it? Thanks for any info.
Let’s see it, I might be able to help. Is it one of the signed and numbered copies? @OldHippyChick67 welcome to OverGrow!
