Lost Canyon Pondo bx1 Tester Giveaway

Lol, yep, learning experience for sure. Hopefully it’ll stick this time… I don’t know how many times I have to learn to stop messing with a reliable soil recipe before the lesson finally sticks.
They’re starting to stink up the room pretty good. Lights out & right before lights on it’ll start drifting out into the rest of the house. Strong smell of sour D, and a bud squeeze gets you a faint sweet/fruity smell to go with it… hard to tell right now but maybe vanilla or banana.

They are a few weeks in. Our normal killing frosts lately have been mid to late November, so plenty of time.

Good luck, bro! The originals were all over the place. Nice expressions, but not enough Diesel. Hoping to see some more Sour leaning plants out the bx1’s.

Welp, they’re starting to wind down and sucking all of the stored goodies out of their leaves. Still drinking water, but I’m keeping them a little on the dryer side now to help stave off any mold that can accompany a grow that hasn’t gone quite right. So far so good. I’ve inspected the innards of a few of the larger buds and all is well. The mites have still not returned. Victory!
Overall, trichomes are ~30% cloudy, the rest clear. I’m going to let them go as long as I can. I believe we’re wrapping up week 8 this weekend. I think they can make it to week 9 maybe a bit longer. One day soon they’ll tell me they’ve had enough and I’ll wrap it up. Good news is, I tend to like 'em a little early, with minimal amber, none at all if it works out that way. Just personal preference.

Overall shot:

The open center girls scent seems to lean more towards the chem side of the fence & I can already tell is going to gum up the trimmers. Large, dense, sticky buds. The lowers are nice and tight too, I don’t think I’ll be tossing any larf into the hash pile on this one.

The supercropped girl (right side of overall shot) is a little more airy & is beginning to foxtail a tiny bit, shooting out a flush of late pistils over the past few days. Still dense, but not quite as dense as her sister. The scent here I’d have to say leans heavily towards sour D and the slight sweet, vanilla smell I had a few weeks ago has almost disappeared but has been replaced by a faint burnt rubber smell… as far as I can tell anyway. Can’t say I’m the best sniffer. She’ll add a little to the hash pile, the lowers didn’t get as much light as the open center style and haven’t thickened up quite as much.

I still have cuttings of each and am looking forward to round 2 in a couple of months. I really want to see what they’ll do w/ my old dialed-in soil mix & without mite issues during transition and the subsequent hasty move to flower.

I took two cuttings of each to have a backup in case one didn’t root. Well, they all rooted and I put one of each out in the greenhouse w/ their brother. For whatever reason, he decided to up and die out of nowhere, dude just said “this is bullshit” and called it quits one day. The only pollen I had handy was some freakshow… and well, one thing led to another and we’re gonna have some mutants to deal with.
Sorry for writing a book; thanks for reading it though. :upside_down_face:

@Ivy -Wow! Didn’t expect a review like that. Thank you for taking the time. The Chem has a heavy influence in Top Dawg’s Sour d bx3 and more phenos than not lean in that direction. The more I see, the more I wish I went with the Sour bx4 from Karma. Every pheno is sour, and crossed with Biker kush instead of Chem. There are some incredible phenos in this cross but not all, and expressions vary greatly. You’re welcome to test anything in my lineup, anytime! Just curious how many weeks in flower so far. The original Pondo was 11-12 weeks and Sour d bx3 x Wing Wang Sour d was a full 12 weeks.

Here’s the list. Let know if anything looks good. Next up is a Jet Fuel reverse line. After that, a Rug Burn OG regular line. Cheers!

Jet Lag- Jet Fuel x OG Chem/Casey Jones

Workingman’s Bud- Sour d bx4 x (Giesel x SFV OG bx3/Sour d)

Hey, thanks for the kind words, support, and the offer. I’ll certainly take you up on it… after Round 2. I have to run these again man. I have a cutting of each still in veg and I’ll get 'em flowering in a couple months. I ran into alot of issues this run and can’t leave it alone… too damn stubborn. One more run to get it right.

Today makes 8 weeks since short days…, but they’re not quite done yet. I think they’ll make it to 9… maybe 10. Probably not a good run for flowering time data. I couldn’t correct the soil issues so its gonna be more of a “they’re done” instead of a “they’re ripe” type of harvest… if that makes sense. I have to say they’ve taken it in stride… not a banana in sight and they’ve put on some good weight and some stankiness. Tough ladies.

I’ve spent almost 4 years on it. There’s other projects I need to start that are more appealing to growers. Not too many people are willing to wait 11-12 weeks for flowering time. Billy Breathes sold out and has been a winner. I need to make a back cross. Jet Lag is almost sold out, and people are asking for Jet Fuel S1’s. And I want to work some of Archive’s and RD’s OG crosses I’ve collected with the Jet Fuel. I think I’m going to trash most of the cuts from other breeders and collect keepers from hunts of my own work. Ive been collecting cuts for a while and nothing is noticeably stronger. Also too many fakes being passed around. It really comes to flavor for me and OG wins every time, without the long flower time.
