I might be trying to help someone older in a lot of pain and other issues by making a low dose butter to do brownies with. What I need to know in simple terms, how many grams per stick at the 18-22% (PTK) THC range for a minimal dose. I only want the equivalent of a light buzz to barely noticeable. Thanks
If I make my butter from flower I use 50 grams-ish. If itās made from trim I do 100 grams or more. From there the math is pretty simple.
I was going to post a link, but I canāt decide which one, lol. Search ācannabis butter potency mathā on Google. Youāll have tons of information.
Iv done 1 oz trim/larf to 1lb butter from a recipe I found few years back.
Substitute oil for butter on brownie recipe, in proper sized pan. 1 brownie has my friends pretty stoned. I would start at a quarter brownie dosage personally.
Thanks, I appreciate how you answered it. The calculation calls for multiple conversions which is confusing to me. Iām ok w one conversion, but conversions to conversion, and again. I just want to say too much head wracking for me
My pleasure brother. I need to edit my post, because it assumes a pound of butter in your brownie recipe, which is highly unlikely. Hang tight and Iāll fix it
What are you using? Are you making the butter or are you using a premade butter with a precise thc %?
Yeah more like 1/4 lb, which I think a 1/4 oz of PTK bud would be low. At least not the first batch. I need to get dosage right then go larger proportion.
Well itās could be mixed trim I have bagged up over a lb or PTK bud
I would say that 1-2 milligrams is enough
I fixed my post, now it answers the question you actually asked, which is mg/stick of butter
So say you have an oz of weed at 20% thc going off the calculations you would get butter with 28 (grams of weed) x .2 this gets you the actual mg which is (20%) so youll be at 5.6g? Or 560mg?
Edit: 5600mg? After a google its another zero for mg it says
Reducing further. Seems to be about 1/8 oz at 100 mg per stick to end up w about 2.8 mg a dose of Im doing it right.
Honestly mate that wouldnt be a bad dose. The best way to check is to make a mug cake in the microwave to test as they take a couple minutes its better to start low n work up but mind it can take a while to kick in.
You can make it at what you think will be right then eat half or a quarter or whatever
Well itās not for me personally, I prefer to smoke than sweat Itās important to low dose as I tried a standard oz trim recipe that sent them flying too high. The person also uses Oxy so another reason to be fairly accurate. I think I have a good idea, which is about 2-3 grams of PTK buds a stick of butter.
It is more about the strain used than just the amount usedā¦ you need high CBD strains with a mid-to-low THCā¦
That will make a huge differenceā¦ read up on the effects of that straināthe other cannabinoids matter too.
Anything too āupā or āenergizingā can raise heart rate and/or BP in some older peopleā¦!
If PTK- it shouldnāt be an upā or energetic unless harvested earlyā¦or possibly mixed with something else??
Nope, itās was on the later side because of seed
May be relevant: Delta-9-THC vs 11-Hydroxy-THC
Every person responds to each strain differentlyā¦ what may cause you couch-lock may be psychoactive to someone else-- ESPECIALLY someone on Oxy and being olderā¦
You may have to find a different strain if diluting it doesnāt helpā¦
Better off being too low a dose and then eating more, than being too strong and giving them bad side effects!
And do warn them!
Oxy slows digestion- so it may take over 2 hours for edibles to kick-in for themā¦ wait at least4 hours before re-dosing if there is little affect!
It will get stronger over the next couple hours-- and really last!
Oh lord. Please ignore me right now. I was doing stoned math, and I thought I was so sharpā¦ but I was not.
