For me it’s increased airflow that solves that issue when I run into it

I have one little fan, I may have to find another in a thrift store.

The pinch seemed to be more so at the top, way above the soil line. It was pretty stretchy because it was started without a proper grow light.
I only added the support when I noticed it toppled over to see if I could try to save it, but It’s probably over.

The soil is now wet because I watered it after noticing it was very dry. Probably too much

mmm that IS very interesting! That only happened to one seedling or it happens lots?

Since I’ve moved indoors, I’ve lost just this one so far.

Try using a peice of wire as a support. Put a U shape at the top so that it holds your seedling but does not grip it like string will. Stick the other end in the dirt. Does that make sense? I think your string crushed your stem.

I usually do that! It’s very good advice. I will admit I was too lazy to find where I lost my wire and went for a loose tie. It’s not the ideal way to do it, but I am 100% certain the stem looked like that before I put on the support, just wish I snapped a photo. It’s really peculiar.

My ‘go to’ is popsicle sticks…
A notch at the top and point at the bottom. The ‘crutches are only needed for a week or so.

Studying my passion has put me in a bit of an art slump, I used to happily draw every day, now it seems I draw once a week. Learning a bunch of new programs can contribute a lot to burn out. Here’s something odd I spat out today. Hand drawn digital

I like to go for a walk in the forest or draw inspiration from documentaries about art! Or… the elusive muse, but that can be a dark path.

Long time no post. Have had a few hiccups in my growing season but here I have 3 photos for you.
My freebie nepalese multipurpose from therealseadco.
It wont stop growing

I’ve only been working this garden bed slowly for about 7 months or so, it’s crazy to see living soil in action.

Augghhh man I’m basically out of weed, too broke to buy more, and additionally am probably getting fed pesticides by the dispensaries I get it from. I wish my plants would just grow and cure themselves over night.

Male Nepali multipurpose chopped at just around 9 feet.

I stripped all the leaves and branches off the stalk, I then swung the stalk like a golf club and it made the most satisfying whipping noise

Man I wish I had a local forest!! I do have coastal Chaparral though and its beautiful and aromatic but only really tolerable in certain seasons. My light eye genetics yearn for the under canopy darkness of a forest.

My college is right by the ocean in a valley surrounded by hills of Chaparral. When I leave my night classes around 9:50 pm it smells AMAZING. Something about this biome full of aromatic herbs, shrubs, sages, all blends perfectly with the smell of the ocean and it reveals itself to me at night. I wish I could bottle it.

This was an enjoyable read! A+ on the whippy stem situation, probably would have done the same.

I may have missed mention of it, but do you do indoor or just outdoor? Any plans for the next grow?

I am currently mostly outdoor (zone 10a), the only indoor space I have at the moment is what you see here, a light and a fan. Ignore the burned plants, I underestimated worm casting + bonemeal tea.

This spring I am planning on doing an outdoor open pollenated landrace/heirloom run, continuing my attempts at 80’s Durban poison. I’m also planning on purchasing Arcadian from realseedco soon, I’m hoping a greek heirloom will love my climate similarly to back home. I have plans on developing my own coastal socal loving “land race” by open pollenating choice cultivars from specific regions similar to mine. If it doesn’t thrive in my climate with minimal/no watering, it wont make the cut!

I currently have one ABC specimen of undetermined sex vegging indoors. It came from the one seed that didn’t damp off so it’s a bit of a prized possession at this point.

That seems like a great criteria, I hope you’re able to develop something!

Good luck with the ABC! Fingers crossed it keeps chugging along.
