LzBoy's Lounge - Perpetually growing OG beans

I must admit that I don’t have much education or technical knowledge regarding this. When I had problems in indoor grows early on, more experienced growers gave me the advice I shared here, and I haven’t had PM problems since then.

See, that’s the professor bruce bugbee, and you can see what he is saying. Unfortunately for him, it’s not true. Each time I grew plants at 90% humidity, I got botrytis cinerea. Powdery mildew only showed up when I brought in an infected cutting.

Ok, so since my last 2 grows have been disappointing.
I needed to do something to cheer me up.
So off to Praxair for 10 lbs of dry ice nugs, and prestohashishio!

That’s the end product.
This is the start.
I’ve done this twice, this being my second. I have to say, frozen fresh is the way to go.
Do Not dry your bud if you are going to do dry ice hash.

So easy. The moisture that stays in the shake is needed for a tempel ball. If it’s to dry it will just crumble and ruins the process.
Wrapped 2 balls in shrink wrap and I’ll leave them for 3 months min.
But the other one was to dry, so into the pipe it goes :ok_hand:

Good morning OG!
well the first ever 2024 outdoor balcony grow is officially done :call_me_hand:
Godfather and 1st contact supplied by @CoastalMarySeeds from @toastyjakes auction.
I grew these 2 indoors and was not impressed, in fact the Godfather went right into the freezer, and the 1st contact was week and nasty tasting.
But what a difference growing these outside, sticky af and the 1st contact breaks of blueberry :+1:
Of course a future smoke report will be the final judge.
Got some nice big colas and 4 big bags for dry ice hash :love_you_gesture:

Big hugs n kisses to Mrs.Lz and Max for helping out. I didn’t realize how big of a job, trimming, washing and hanging takes for outdoor grows and have a new respect for thoes who do.
@THCeed I don’t know how you do it ya work horse.

Heck, even good ol McDonald’s knows me well.

:yum::yum::yum::yum:
Back, knee and ankle are done after 2 days of this. So took a sicky today to chill and play NHL25 on xbox all day.
Anyone else play, look me up. OGLZBOY is my gamer tag.
So happy hockey season is finally back! And what a way to start the season, kicking the leafs asses in a 48 shot shutout :clap::clap::clap::clap:
GO HABS GO!

Haha, ikr :love_you_gesture:. The laughs (as I like to call em) always kick our asses in golf. Cus they have way more practice time in May, while the Habs are still playing hockey :call_me_hand:
I’ve got an ongoing bet with around 10 friends that the Habs will win another cup before the laughs. I almost collected during covid.

Hey OG guys n gals, hope everyone is having a great weekend.
Been a short bit since I’ve dropped some pics. I guess it’s more human nature. When things are going good. Share the happiness with others. But when it goes a bit downhill, sometimes ya wanna crawl under a rock for awhile till things settle back to norm.
So after the powdery mildue debacle in the 5x5 and hitting the reset button. It’s back to basics and taking it slow.
In the 5x5 I’m doing photos fems. 3 meatbreath, 3 walkinstein and 1 bag seed I found in a bag of runtz from an online order :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: I thought for sure they did something so the seeds aren’t viable, but I guess not :+1:

Let’s goooooooo!
in the 2x4 I’ve got a Scarlet Grape and a fastbuds blueberry just turning to flower.

Hope the tent is big enough. If not I might have to change the plan and just use it as a starter for the 5x5 :man_shrugging:t3: time will tell.
on a personal note. After 2 long years of waiting in agony. I finally had a cat scan and full left side extent ion xrays of my hip, leg and ankle for reallinging.
on Halloween I have what is hopefully my last surgeon appointment, if all is good. In 6 weeks I should be going under the knife to fix my entire left side from hip down. :crossed_fingers:
Max is doing incredibly well and is just an incredible dog. His overall good nature is such a blessing, we really are lucky to have him in our lives.

Thanks for swinging by today. Have a great day OG :call_me_hand:
Big division game today GOOOOO BUCS! :pirate_flag:

Slow and low… All good things in time!

Thanks CD, appreciate the kind words. Im finding that a 2x4 really ain’t that big after you slam all the equipment in. If I need to do little switcharoo I might have to throw em in the 5x5 till the regs get farther along I veg.
I just need my own acreage with all the grand aspersions that are floating around in my brain.
That reminds me. I need a lotto ticket :four_leaf_clover:

Ok folks. Well I had my specialist appointment today. I have 2 options to decide on. But I’m pretty sure I’ve made my decision on my ankle.
Full fusion, 1 surgery, no pain after… Option 2 is 2 surgeries, alot more complications and so #1 it will be. But my doc won’t touch me untill I’m 3 months nicotine free. So I’m quitting for good tomorrow November 1st :crossed_fingers:
Hers some shots of my transplant last night

And of course I forgot to take pics of the autos in the 2x4.
Have a great day OG

So with a full fusion, will you be able to move your foot at all after?
Plants are looking healthy btw :slightly_smiling_face:

Nope, but everything will be aligned properly. At the moment I’m actually walking on my tibula or fibula, whatever one is on the inside. So the will break parts of the ankle, realignment and then put a steel rod straight up my heel to the tibula. Then fuse the ankle solid.
1st step is 3 months no nicotine.
Doc said I’m way to high risk, being diabetic as well.
She said, it’s up to me. But the probability of amputation after surgery is just to much to eff around with.
So November 1st, my first full day without a single smoke :+1:
But boy, probably puffed a good half Oz to make up for it :joy:

Dang, definitely some serious surgery! I’m sure you are ready to get it over with considering how long you have lived in pain. I bet it is hard to quit cigs, but yeah good thing you have some killer bud!

:100: Right there. That’s what’s keeping me off them.
Just need to remember why, and that I only cheating and hurting myself in the long run.
Ffs, watched my mom go through it all and still was like… Fuck it let’s smoke.
If this is the push over the edge I needed. So be it. I’m done with em. :+1:

I chewed a shitload of sugar free gum when I quit.

I quit about 20 years ago now, what did it for me was reading bits of the book Alan Carr’s The Easy Way. It asks lots of questions like, does smoking help you concentrate or does smoking help you relax or does smoking help you sleep? Then it points out that no way can any drug both help you relax and also simultaneously help you focus. It would be like a sleeping pill that if you need it to will also help you stay up all night to finish an assignment or drive interstate. So this makes you realize that nicotine is the perfect addictive drug in that it will be whatever your brain needs it to be in that moment. Once you realise that, you understand that it’s not nicotine that has a hold over you, it’s your own brain tricking you. I used nicotine gum for about a week to break the habit of smoking and then weaned myself off that the second week.
