Both P Pineapple seeds have a tiny little tail sprouted. Nothing yet from the other 3 seeds. If they don’t pop by tomorrow I’ll have to think about getting 3 others started. Problem is, I don’t have much to choose from seed wise. Oh well, that’s life.

@Solowolf man i went to the store to get some mycos and for my surprise they didn’t had, looks like they will be not getting in here anymore i guess like a lot of other products , so they recommended me a mycos blend from Hawaii , some local stuff from down to earth, we use to have great white before a Hawaiian specific bled , but not too much people buy it here so they stooped doing the Hawaiian bend , and this one looks even more active than the previous one i used to use, also i added some Em-Bokashi that improve it a lot too

Well made the wicking cups tonight kinda PIA getting three strings through each hole doing a trail with jute twine to mix it up a bit!

will pull the strings up about 3/4 if the way and fill with my special winning blend! Lol

Looks good! Contemplating doing the same. May still go with rock wool drain to waste but lack of ac in the space for girls may not allow for low enough reservoir temps. I’ve never used wicks before so it will be interesting to see how this goes with the warmer temps.

Picked up the idea from Ed Rosenthal book on watering systems the 16 oz wick cup will fit inside another cup with a spacer in it acting like a mini reservoir I’ll probably go with a 1.5 in pvc pipe cut down the side or notched in the bottom and cut at about 3-4 inches In length to keep it out of the water ,through capillary action the media will be nice and evenly wet through Out

I wanted to try it with 5 gallon smart pots as well this year but looking to late to do something outdoors like that with those I’d probably go with 1 “ diameter nylon cord for 5 gallon pots

A simple test with jute twine to see if there will be water on the stove in a hour or two

My guess is the just will wick better. But the nylon will last longer. Got any hemp twine?

More surface area means more capillary action, hmmmm where could we find a thicker wick with more fiber to siphon water more efficiently?

I don’t have hemp but the nylon does better than ya might think … should of done a side by side … ahh it’s not to late! ) the jute in just 10” or < Is already wet a couple inches outside the glass !

soo the jute has about a ten minute head start!

Well @ReikoX you were right with the jute in just 18” the water is pooling already

Maybe I’ll do one more cup of twine then!
