I agree mostly with the linked story.
I remember MTF pretty much dissapeared overnight from my connections in around 1990, after a huge bust in the āvalleyā
The HA supposedly held an iron grip on the clone and when their grow compound was busted, MTF dried up.
I donāt doubt that the clone could have slipped from their fingers or S1ās proliferated, but MTF was replaced as a staple by other strains.
In 2013 I picked up a clone of supposed MTF from an older grower, up the road, in Sutton.
I was so unimpressed by the high that I tossed it.

Yeah the mtf i find isnt the same. Thats exactly what i heard they valley kept it in hand only then got raided. Its actually the reason i dont believe in hoarding strainsā¦ Its how they end up dying out.

Back in the day in OG I always said clones should be for freeā¦and back then the OG people were giving out clone only strains for free, we didnāt even want to charge for the shipping cost.

Iāve always believed the same. I donāt charge people for clones maybe shipping at the most.
When I got busted I lost everything even seed but because I gave out so many clones I was able to get some of my most prized genetics back.

Hereās the MTF that I grew out from a supposed cut back in 14.
She was definitely a sativa leaning hybrid, but was very heavy sleepy smoke.
She was very much a mid and had to go!

I had several friends who worked on the oil rigs on the north slope in the 80ās who would fly home between hitches. They would always sneak some home. They said it was the real deal. I do remember it was some potent shit. We rarely got killer weed in the Midwest back then

Thanks, she had so much vigor in flower.
I was using 5 gallon buckets with coco perlite and hand watering every couple of days.
I did the open bulb style for about a year, but switched back to hoods when I discovered the DE bulbs.

Phil Cuisine I only ask cause a lot of people claim to have it. My friends grandpa introduced thunderfuck to Matanuska valley. Him and a bunch of his hippy friends from Lodi California.

I told the guy that the real deal Matanuska Thunder Fuck clone I had if cured right smelled like Tang the orange drink.

Phil Cuisine sounds like the real deal. Doing a bong rip leaves you like a nitrous hit, for the first couple minutes afterward. And the back story is dead on. Red and white, red and black. Cali bikers went to Alaska. My good friend owns property in Alaska. Even with him being brothers with the original strain breeders grandson. He wasnāt allowed to even taste MTF until he lived there 5 years.
