discovered a mite infestation about a week ago, used @JohnnyPotseed mites thrips and aphids cure all recipe. I ended up having to do 3 rounds which i think is what did me in. Now nearly all the fan leaves have shriveled up and fallen off and the buds are pretty small and weak looking. But i’m pretty sure all mites are gone. What’s super weird is how only one of my two plants( same age, diff genetics) got spider mites. The one that didn’t get them is doing very well and seems to be pretty healthy. Which is ironic because it was way smaller than the other one and i didn’t even prune it before flower. Anyways, I’m just watering it and trying to keep it alive but I’m not sure what to do/ how long to let it keep going. Any and all help is much appreciated.
I’d pick all the death off them then scope them see where your at I’d guess a fair amount of amber on the damaged plants usually they amber up quicker under stress I’ve found.
If only 8 weeks now if you’ve got the bug problem solved I’d give them a couple more weeks .
Definitely suggest come harvest you wash them before hanging them wash off all the spider mite shit.
I’ve never seen the MTA one-n-done mix do anything like that! I’d have to ask if it was the proper ingredients and ratios, also if it was diluted at correct proportions?
As to what can you do now? As @ShiskaberrySavior said, remove all dead growth. Then scope em out to see how they look.
I can say with 99% certainty that all the proportions were correct, and I applied it in a handheld 2gallon sprayer. However, it did take me a few days to get all my ingredients because I am 20, so I had to get my mom to buy me Everclear…. (i know i could have ordered the ethanol but it was so expensive versus a liter of everclear). Anyways, by the time I mixed it all up it was late afternoon but I went ahead and sprayed anyways. Makes me wonder if the lights+spray maybe burned them? i’m not sure or if the mites had already done a lot of damage by the time I sprayed? I have never done this before so i’m pretty much guessing. but thank you for the recipe post and thanks for your response!
You say applied in a 2gal pump sprayer. DID you dilute it at 2oz per gallon? Or use full strength? I believe that happened to one other member, they used the mix full strength without diluting.Lights on or off hasn’t been something to concern about, for me and others.
I used 3oz of the concentrate for the 2 gal sprayer. And I didn’t use all of the two gallons after it was all said and done, I could have just used one gallon.
Then I have no idea what could possibly do what you show. Sorry, cuz. You are only the second one to have ANY issues with using it. Possibly, you said using it 3 days in a row? With no rest between? I 'm stumped here.
Lights out or on don’t matter, cuz. We sprayed every time with the lights on in veg 24/7. No ill effects whatsoever. Now in the budroom, we hit em before lights out usually. But never any harm showed in either
I applied the second treatment with a day in between the first treatment. and then the fourth day i saw just a few isolated in a corner so i sprayed them down. How long do you think I should continue to flower them for?
Ok, are you asking me about flowering your plants? lol I have no idea, check the grow guides for that strain(s). As far as spraying goes, we spray whenever we see any mites. In Oklahoma the whole state is infested, we’ll pick em up just walking from the house to the barn! (50 whole feet distance, lol) Not always bit we’re out in the boonies/countryside with a lot of them F’ers.
If you can get it, I was told by a long time grower to get almite. There is a specific microbial bug or something that apparently works very well. I’m in Canada so if u locate it please let me no
No lol I know you cant tell by just looking exactly but last time i posted a few people responded and said it looked a few weeks away from harvest. I live in Oklahoma too do that would explain the surplus of spider mites!
im wondering if the bugs are hiding under the trellis rope or in the knots of it? removing everything but the plants from the tent would provide a very even coverage.
We sprayed everything that we could safely. Walls, floors, pots, ceilings etc. But like @Cannabel said… lives in Oklahoma also. The state has a crap-ton of mites.
My plants turned like yours also, but it was because I upped the ratio to 2.5 per gallon… i believe. And sprayed with a few days between, sooner than I had prior. I was typically waiting 10 days or so.
I sprayed lights off, and allowed plants to dry pretty good before turning my oscillating fan back on.
So far I’m not seeing any evidence of mites in the second tent or in my clone/veg space.
As long as you kept the ratios the same I don’t know why it would work differently? I definitly don’t know though because obviously my plants not too happy at the moment. I did three seperate sprays that covered all the foliage. I tries to get around the net/ soak the net as well but when I tried to take it off the braches were so weak they were folding in on themselves. sigh
I just used this MTA. After the first spray w/ a fogger, still saw a lot of movement. Tried a soaking the next day, haven’t seen any movement since. Did it again 4 days later and the plants look beautiful, and healthy. One of the plants is a couple of weeks from harvest, no damage. It’s been 5 days since last spray, and I still haven’t seen any movement. Tons of eggs, but nothing hatching. It’s impressive.
Had you sprayed with any oil based anything before the MTA?
