I have gotten to know a lot of the women in my wife’s family because she was raised in this area. I have only met one that I would call lazy.
Good folks dang near every one.
happy weekend og and @MoBilly hope everyone is having a spectacular weekend so for. Hopefully by the end of next week we will be out of the 100°+ days.
Good morning @MoBilly and friends! I hope yall are having a great day so far! Im ready to get this last day of work done with and be off for 4 days. Got some garden work inside and outside to do next week and a few other things that need to get done. On a side note id love some input from you guys here on something. My wife wanted to do a 40 plant phenohunt and id have to get some more pots for that so im wondering which pots to go with? Im kinda biased and want the rain science 0.8 gallon phenohunt bags because i have already used and love their 1,3, and 5 gallon bags and they have a lifetime warranty so in the longrun they will last the longest but the downfall is the $7 a bag price tag so 40 with a discount comes to a whopping $252. Thats why ive looked at some other options but so far besides the white thin bags for “seedlings” and these other pots from 247 gardening are what im looking at . Im curious what you guys think and what you would use/buy?
I hate to say it but I pick up all my planters at a plant supply place. They only use thier potters once and then throw them in bins outside the building for customers to take for free. I know a few places around here that do the same. All of the pots I use I have gotten this way. Simply take them home clean and sterilize and use. Personally I don’t like the cloth/fabric planters as I find they dry out to quickly to suit me.
Thanks for the tips i appreciate it. I also dont like the fabric bags they don’t wash well. The rain science bags wash well and are really reusable ive had the same 10 pk for over a year
Good morning Mo, good morning OG’s. @HighTilliDie I do the same as @Oldjoints, I go up to Home Depot and get the ones going to recycle. I have way more than I need.
Good morning Mo and friends! Been a minute but I’m getting ready for the long dark (winter lol). Pointed towards the holidays with full jars life is alright.
I’ve taken to using nursery pots too, at least outdoors. Can get away with smaller footprint, slower to dry out and they hold heat longer than the fabric. That becomes important when it’s getting down in the 40’s at night.
And yeah, I have way too many collected from purchased plants. lol
Good morning Mo and OG
Happy Sunday!
Good Morning brother MO,& all OG!
Good morning all! Just enough time to say howdy and have a cup of coffee before heading out again. Delores should be home soon enough for evening chores.
Good morning everyone. Hope you’re all having a great day.
@HighTilliDie if you’re planning on doing these phenohunts a lot get the rain science bags. If it’s a once off get cheap ones
I prefer the plastic containers over bags myself
Really prefer free also
Ill have to check out lowes thats the closest thing we have to a garden shop and see what they have for things going out to the recycle then. @Emeraldgreen im really leaning towards the rain science bags because i feel like ill do this more than ince especially if im going to keeo breeding because i cant just ask everyone to do my work for me and then expect results the way id grow
You can try asking . Get the rain science than.
thanks for sharing the fabric pots you like, og always helps me save times with direct links. You guys saved me from fungus gnats in a few days with a little amazon for like $20.
I was not a big vivosun fan in the past but the one gallons with the side that open I think are maybe optimal for sexing plants and keeping moms, so they’re not too big or too wimpy. For smaller fabric pots I prefer those over the ac infiinty or generic ones at this point. Two gallons are good also for coco
I approached this problem from a different angle. I like using the 1020 trays (the name comes from the size, 10" x 20").
I found I could fit 8 of the standard 5.5" square plastic nursery pots per tray (I think they are about .75 gallons).
That means initially for 40 plants you need 5 trays, that’s a squeeze for a 3’ x 3’ tent but easy for a 4’ x 4’.
Of course, all of this is only valid when they are small but I can grow them in these pots until they start showing their sex and then “decision time” (depending on tent size etc.

I was just thinking 4•4 with clones sea of green would be a great option for sampling a lot of cuts
Also no stacking is super appealing
Good point, I have to think about that approach…
Cheers

I might be getting a ton of cuts depending on how my buddy decides to move forward. I want to see how they do inside, but way to many. Than I thought just flower the clones out small I can find what I should focus on and let some go.
That’s the plan anyway
Goodmorning brother mo!!! I hope you have a good 1 today buddy
Hey Mo ! Good morning. Tell Delores its time to start thinning the herd. Lol
