Multiple Strains On 1 Plant

So I was looking at this article on, How To Graft Cannabis And Grow Multiple Strains On 1 Plant. I never knew you could do that with cannabis. I have seen it done with trees before. I am guessing you would have to have a good size mother plant.

Has anyone else ever looked into doing this or tried? I wonder if it would change the flowers, would it then be a cross? Would this work for seeds?

No it wouldn’t be a cross or affect the flowers in any way. It’s pretty easy to do though. It’s just like cloning. Depending on the root base, they may get better nutrition or affect them in some unforeseen ways that differ from the grafted strains. It’s a fun experiment. I’ve done it with some clones (so not multiple strains), and didn’t notice anything different in the results compared to the original clones grown out. Your mileage may vary slightly.

If i remember correctly @Star_Dog used to have a mother plant with a bunch of different strains grafted onto it. There was a good writeup on it on another forum.

Many users have experimented and, some continue grafted grows. The site search function has a number of results for graft which you may be interested in

@Andrane also has a neat grafting project documented on here.

I’ve seen a couple people do moms with grafting just to keep plant numbers down and variety high. It won’t really change anything about the strains used. They’ll more or less just grow like a branch on the original plant so you could then take different cuttings off different branches of one mom. It’s not really worth it for me but it’s still a cool experiment if you’ve got the room to play around.
