My first Hydro Setup 🌿

That is really high eek! I would suggest storing water when it drops back down. Just incase something like this happens again.

Ps. That’s quite the pile!

That high you’d have to get a filter or buy water jugs at the store, done that before  hopefully they fix your water stat as that’s not cool at all.

Nods, if it doesn’t get better in a few days going to have to buy water to finish out the grow and then switch back to soil.

No way I can afford or habe the room for a ro system. :frowning:

I’ve seen decent RO systems on Amazon for ~$130-200. But you’d probably have to store water ahead of time as they don’t produce a lot.

The store water is usually pretty cheap at least, it’s just the carrying that sucks

Unless you’re on a well, I’m pretty sure that’s way too high for legal limits so hopefully they’d be on fixing it asap if they’re aware. Could alert the water utility but also likely don’t want anyone needing to come in the house so… yeah

I’m going to push a couple feeds thru this week, yesterday was everyone got the cruddy .7 - 1.2 ec tap water just ph’d, no nutrients.

Going to do some research on the chemicals that are typically in tap water to see if there are adverse interactions between the tap nutes / chemicals nutrients. From the small amount I’ve read so far, the interaction is minimal, and the worst is you stack an incredibly high ec and just wait and see.

Bwuahahahahahha - going to be an interesting experiment if it has to go that far. Hopefully the water company gets the stuff under control and back to the 0 ec…

And, if they can’t get the ec back to an acceptable range, going to pretty much strip the plants I have in veg for clones, and limp the flower tent to completion.

I gotta say, I’m bummed out, but, not like i dont know how to grow in dirt

Yeah really just depends what is in there. If it’s nitrates or calcium carbonate I think it could possibly cause an issue. Most likely would be lockout more than anything, but I’d think a drink or two wouldn’t be too harmful even if it is one of those. Worst case, flush and refill and be back to proper good growth :+1:

It would be something if they actually like it. I would go crazy trying to figure out what was in that water. Lol

Whatever they were doing yesterday, it’s back down to normal range of .2 I can work with that at least holy cow. About had a melt down…

Just a wild ass guess but in the past sometimes the city would flush out the pipe systems with a huge chlorine purge it would last a single day. Never tested the EC of it though.

I’m glad it’s back to normal. I would put like 10 gallons off to the side just it happens again. I keep enough water off to the side for a complete change out of all my buckets. Now you got me wanting to check my water before adding my nutes. I would hate to waist nutes on bad water.

Nods, I’ve got water blocks that I’ve been meaning to fill (incase of a water emergency) gotta get it done this weekend. :v::call_me_hand::heart:

Another huge water ec swing today. Officially going back to soil.

Going to transplant the plants that are in veg back into dirt amd finish out the hempys in the flower tent.

So annoying, but the up side soil is so much easier lol :joy::sweat_smile:

Couldn’t do it, just threw them into the flower tent to finish, moved my gg seeded auto to veg tent side with the better light to finish.

Fed em all 1.0 ec 5.5 . Base water 1.2 ec, total 2.2 ec. We shall see what happens.

That’s terrible. I’m supper sorry to hear that. Damn those water Gods.

Shrug, it’s not life ending. Honestly, soil is so much easier. I’ll trade less work and more simplicity for a little slower growth. At least now I know how to do hydro for the next round.

I may keep 1 or 2 hempys, but I’m looking forward to some dirt, Ph’d water and Ph’d/nutes with no ec

Man, I’m totally torn here. Going to see how these ladies respond to the super high ec. The growth of these plants in this style is hard to beat. Mixing 24 gallons of water every two days though, brutal lol.

They’re so effing pretty though :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Tomorrow gonna strip the newcomers in the flower tent.

Wow! I’m so impressed with their size and rapid growth… Guess it ain’t as straight as I may have thought. There’s something quite volatile in hydro, a minor problem seems to easily grow into aggravation with the possibility of bringing everything to an end (like getting all plants killed). It turned out you have been working your butt off to have it going “smoothly,” but dear, just kick the effing bucket (don’t mean it literally) and enjoy the rest of the ride. You’ll easily have your time back to soil after this harvest, and hope you get a chunk of buds when this time comes!
