Couple months ago my buddy gave me a seed to try growing. He never grew them himself and it was my first run of autos. I think it was Big Bud. But it ended up dying after a few weeks. It started out a nice purple and then turned pink and started to turn white. I ever seen anything like it before, have any of you folks?
Freaky, what’s the lighting situation?
I know it may sound contradictory but that was a beautiful death …
It was under a mars hydro 1000. The 3 other plants I had going at the same time were perfect but they weren’t the same strain.
How close to the lights were they? LEDS can bleach a plant if too close.
Otherwise it could be a virus. I’ve been paranoid lately. I was looking at Tobacco Mosaic Virus and it can show as variegated leaves and can be passed in seeds.
But, that’s my new found virus paranoia.
pink pistils early is a hemp heavy cbd trait in some strains.
bleaching looks freakish, actual color rather than burn. Interesting
That looks like a true variegated plant, not something input induced or environmentally induced.
Put it on Facebook marketplace for $600 bucks and call it a tropical variegated house plant! LOL
It happens with people too, some have varigated skin, half black, half white.
Happens with every mammal probably, partial albinism you could call it.
Really cool, there’s someone in Europe that breeds plants that variegate white almost exactly like that, it’s called Picasso or something like that.
Might have to get another seed off my friend and see if there they grow out the same.
Chlorosis. Possibly from no food. But at that size with soil id say its from bad genetics.
Also nice to see another newfie around
That looks like variegation, just you initially had some purple color in there as the other pigment pretty cool, those white parts unfortunately due to the lack of chlorophyll won’t help it grow much.
Yeah it stopped growing after the second picture was taken.
Possibly true variegation. Or absolute bleaching…. No idea tbh but if truly variegated that’s pretty damn cool!
Stopped growing? Pretty damn cool!
Variegation!
