New grow older strains decision

Starting a new grow soon to keep me busy during rehab post bypass surgery.
Probably won’t get started with actual grow for another 4 to 6 weeks but I will have help so it could be sooner.

Will be a RDWC grow probably using 400w and then 1000w HPS.

I have 4 different strains to choose from for this run all of which I’ve had for over 15 years -
Mr. Nice Super Silver Haze
Chimera Calizahr
Nirvana White Widow
Cannabiogen Destroyer

Currently I’m leaning towards the Calizahr.

The more SSH growing in the world the better

I definitely get that, but wanted to wait until I have dialed in the new grow room before trying the last of my SSH seeds.

Don’t have the zipper yet - happens next week. Local docs afraid to crack my chest and sent me to a doc with very good record in high risk surgeries.
I won’t be able to slack off on the rehab, my wife has been in the rehab line of work for years and is absolutely relentless.

That is a sad phrase. Preservation!

I’m hoping to be able to make some seeds and/or find a mother in the few left.

Nice selection of older strains not seen too often these days! Decisions, decisions!

Here’s a genetic breakdown of your strain choices.

SSH… (Skunk#1 x Haze C) x (NL#5 x Haze C)

Calizahr… California Orange x Shiskaberry red line

White Widow… Brazil x India

Destroyer… (Mexico x Colombia) x Meao Thai

It’s a difficult decision, but I think you picked the right one to start with. Calizahr is a strain I haven’t seen around in quite a while. It’s got great genetics, as do the other three, but it’s got the Shiskaberry red line in it and should be grown out.

Maybe consider a preservation run with at least three of those strains… the Calizahr, Destroyer and SSH could use it more so than White Widow. White Widow is still found pretty easily… the others are not. Just a thought.

My thought process exactly.
I’ve already ran a test germinate on 2 WW and 2 Destroyer and got 100% cracked and grown out by my son. Both Destroyer were males and pollinated the 2 WW females. Have a bunch of the seeds from that cross also. Need more space to grow out some of those to see if anything interesting is there.
Calizahr is still in the lead and will be grown with the purpose to preserve the genetics as will the others when I get to them.

I’d totally grow that Destroyer.

Disagree. When you drop the SSH, drop enough to maximize the breeding potential. Two is not enough.

I hear you @lefthandseeds!
The Destroyer is appropriately named!

Not the best smoke for a wake n bake session

Id go with the destroyer and calizahr for the first run. They seem like theyd help the most after heart surgery… id love some of those ww destroyer seeds too @Bullitt, pm me if youd like to trade for something…

Seed counts per strain -
SSH - 7 seeds
Calizahr - 10 seeds
Destroyer - 4 seeds
WW - 4 seeds

I only have the room for 6 in flower at at time.

I’m gonna pop a couple of the Destroyer X WW to see if they are viable. If they are good I’ll let you know, I would be happy to toss some of these around.

Sounds good, i hope they crack for ya… looks like calizahr is a good place to start since you have a whole pack

I vote white widow. Anything widow. So many forgotten memories

Yeah, I agree. I hear WW is really easy to grow and you can dial everything in before running more rare beans. I have thought about buying some old WW from a Dutch company and finding a keeper. Just to be able to bust out some killer White Widow at a concert or something. Make all those old stoners excited.
