***No Till Or Die Trying (3x3 and 2x4 living soil beds)***

The back canopy was 12 in or so higher than the front canopy, so drastic measures were needed. I made some temporary tent supports to keep the tent walls from sucking into the plant as much and also allow me to connect the trellis to it so I could pull it super tight and allow me to hold the back 2 plants down more aggressively.

Tent supports are just made from some old camping tent poles that were sitting at my fathers place. I just cut them down to size with a pipe cutter and used electrical tape to hold them to the tent poles till I could get the trellis connected with a bunch of reusable/adjustable zip ties. The tower fan is just sticking up through one of the trellis squares and I did not tighten that grid in the lattice/trellis

Screw you unruly canopy! I win this time!

Here is the canopy after I woke up. Acclimating nicely so far. I will be getting in there to defoliate and trim off some unneeded branches etc a bit later.

Yesterday was the first time I put any sort of amendments into the 3x3 bed since I am flipping to flower and the plants have been in there for a month. I added 4 cups of BAS Craft Blend and 1.5 cups of BAS Kashi Blend on top of that. It was all watered in with blue corn/alfalfa SST (sprouted seed tea) with some aloe powder, rootwise and a splash of molasses.

The bed had been on the drier side that I would have liked since I was trying to let the front 2 plants bust out of their funk a bit more, but its time to bring the moisture level up to where it should be and let them do what they are going to do. Timer will be changed to 12/12 today so these girls can start the rest of their journey.

The other day I received my par meter in the mail thanks to @DougDawson’s brand suggestion. It is a Photobio LGBQM2 Advanced Quantum PAR Meter. I decided to get the open box one amazon was selling that was 50$ cheaper and it works beautifully. I soon found out that I had been over running a bunch of plants with too much light for what I was doing. A mix of too much light and me blasting the plants with some heavy applications of DrZymes to get rid of some thrips I had been seeing, explains why I was seeing some of the tops in the 3x3 bed getting slightly unhappy.
Love this par meter though! I went through and tuned the lights in all of the tents and it felt pretty good indeed.

Looking good @bassman5420 What brand of humidifier are you using? I like that one but I can only find the ones that shoot straight up with a small reservoir. Thanks.

It seems amazon has the newer version of what I had possibly? I cant find these ones anymore, only the newer digital/wifi versoins. Amazon.com

The first link is the cheaper non wifi type. Not sure why they stopped selling the manual ones and switched to digital/wifi models to sell. The manual ones are nice because you can hook them into various environmental controllers and they will turn on automatically without having to press a button.

Depending on your space/needs, there are a number of decent ones on amazon to pick from it seems.

I always look through the best sellers first and then branch out if my needs are not met from their list.

I went with this one @OldGator and have been happy with it so far…

Very nice! A little higher price, but I love the 2 gallon capacity. I have been thinking about making a custom DIY humidifier to fit the space in the front of my 4x4 tent. Would be nice if I only had to refill it every 2-3 days and not every 24 hours heh.

Ya if I keep it on a low mist I can get a few days off the tank, if I am pushing at the med level of mist I get about a day and a half… ya the cost was up a bit over others, but 2gal capacity is nice…

I was just looking at the hydro farm PAR meter the other day, actually still sitting in my cart I think, can’t afford the Apogee one, I’ll have to scope out the model you mentioned, open box deal sounds like a good bargain!

Ya there is no way I could or would buy those 500$+ par meters lol. Half the reason I got this one was because I had 150$ amazon gift cards from credit card rewards and then found the discounted par meter. Ended up costing me 0$ out of pocket in the end so that was great. :+1:

Edit: Ooh damn, they are cheaper/on sale right now it seems.

Now I wish I had waited and just got a brand new one at the lower price lol. Ooh well I am still happy.

Oh man. That is tempting, but 160 is a tough pill to swallow too right now with the holidays coming up. Not to mention I’ve been burning cash on a bunch of Black Friday seed deals :joy:

Understandable, this can be a rough time of the year for the wallet. I’m sure something will be out there when you are in the market for it, it seems this may be the new pricing for this product so that’s pretty cool if stays there.

What a comeback for those ladies in the 2x4! I’m late to the party, but I’m staying til dawn.
Nice work so far @bassman5420
