Perlite tend to work its way up to the top of the pot. With No till you dont want to disturb anything under the surface, if you can help it so, you need something that will aerate and stay in the soil where you want it.

Your cover crop will be to thick to mulch things along with it, when the canopy gets thick enough shade will eventually kill it off then you can top dress after that

@Jdem075 this also serves a dual purpose the shells of crab contain chitin when it breaks down in the presence of Chitinase and enzyme that will increase the plants SAR and help against pest attacks.

IME this is minimal and only applies to the upper couple of inches. Maybe not the best option, but it is cheap and readily available.

Thanks is not really a park is more like a forest but I’ll get a bag of bark from amazon and follow your watering schedule

Hope everyone’s having a great weekend.

I have a few seedlings who are showing some purpling already. Is this genetics or some sort of deficiency?

They’re in SS for now
Temp is 23-26c
Rh 50-55%
Grape skunk x grape pie

i would advise against this as peat moss gets hydrophobic. Which could cause watering issues in the long run, I would assume. I just use old plant stems and leaves that are falling off, in between me acquiring straw/hay.

I recommend activating the charcoal before mixing it. Add microbes to it by soaking them in microbe water. Otherwise, they will become sponges for all your goodies, and you won’t have a good time.

It is really hard to tell. Could be temp and genetics.

There should be plenty of everything in that soil for a seedling. Other than a ph issue, it could be genetics or cold shock, but at those temps I would say genetics. If it starts to get a grey brown burn on the tips and sides of the leaves it’s a P deficiency.

Looks healthy to me ATM.

I agree 100% with @Shadey usually with purpling it’s an indicator or phosphorus def but with that soil highly doubt it I notice it with tomatoes usually early in the stage and keeping the root zone warm helps tremendously you can actually see it go away on tomatoes from day to day if your seeing the purple move down towards the soil it’s good has it moved in any direction lately? Do you have any other seedling exhibiting this?

Also with that strain it could be normal as others said already

Any tips for getting some denser buds? (Aside from generics)

I have a 750w COB led with 2 supplemental 660nm boosters (20w per booster) so 780w total. I also hav an exhale 365 bag that gives me around 700-800ppm. This is all in a 5x5

I feel temps are an important factor for denser nugs, to hot and they fluff up to help expirate.

What are your temps and RH like in the tent?

The temps around 25-27c with lights on and around 50-55%rh

That shouldn’t be causing any problems really. I took down a GDP a couple of weeks ago, and some buds that were too heavy hung down the back side of the pot, where I couldn’t see, they were fluffy and no where near as dense as the rest on the plant.

What are your thoughts on using kelp throughout flower ?

I use it it in teas, or just throw some I have collected off the beach, liquidized with water and frozen in ice cube trays, in my water bucket right through the whole grow.

I use it when up putting my plants, it reduces shock.

That’s awesome !

So it’s pretty much good all the way up until harvest. I thought it might have too much nitrogen for flower
