OG Census - What Makes You Tick

All good mate it’s just for a bit of fun, all the voters are anonymous so no idea who’s voted or who hasn’t so no worries

If only you could put us under a label…. The cannabis community is so unique IMO. It’s interesting to see where the majority went on here. Great idea brother

I can’t believe you made me choose between Led Zep and Black Sabbath. I have the Zeppelin Icarus on one shoulder and the Sabbath Demon with star on the other, the whole good and evil on your shoulders thing but with the grandfathers of metal. I had to go Sabbath cause I listen to a lot of bands that were clearly influenced heavily by them but damn.

I know mate that’s a tough one for me too, the little shed at my mates where I did most of my teenage/highschool smoke sessioning had only one cassette in the boom box that we would thrash on the daily… one side was Led Zeppelin remastered and the other Black Sabbath Paranoid so without having to choose I picked Iggy And The Stooges instead. All of those bands/artists apart from Grateful Dead were a big part of my upbringing. Could easily have thrown Hendrix on the list too.

Got to see Black Sabbath in 99’ after Primus and Slayer warned up for them. Not many highlight top seeing Robert Plant though do an acoustic set in a small tent at Glastonbury in 2002(I think), amazing

I had tickets and went to see Sabbath reunited around 2002 at an Ozzfest and something came up where I had to leave before they even came on. BIG regret. And yes thank you for not throwing Jimi in there cause you can’t break up the holy trinity

Mobb deep all day. But I cut my teeth on east side.

“Listen to too much of that gangster music, nah this is reality, we really go through with it.”

I’m partial to pac because of his radical left politics(he was a leader in Baltimores Young Communist league), also his aunt is Assata Shakur which is super cool.

Not a big fan of any of the rock options though I do like some Marley (not a big fan of his garvyist views but they’re understandable)

Some of the grow questions I’m still figuring my style out so :man_shrugging:

Totally agree, but it was dead, zep, sabbath and marley for me. Each style has its own time, but I was forced to say the dead since ultimately they had the most influence… Iggy was the only “wtf are they doing here” listed… everything else is in regular rotation here LOL

The Dead was the easiest to push to the bottom for me, just never really got into it for whatever reason. Marley and Iggy are great but for the amount of songs I like from either’s catalog that alone made me feel less bad. Plus compared to Zep or Sabbath? No contest.

Yeah, I had a hard time deciding between Sabbath and Iggy, myself. But in the end, I will always choose punk rock. Or the precursor to punk rock, anyway haha. Love Sabbath, though. If it wasn’t for them, we wouldn’t have Electric Wizard now haha.

Mhm, that’s another one. How Tupac got thrown into the “greatest hip-hop act of all time” discussion is beyond me. He’s like maybe 200’th on the list. Maybe. I mean, how you gonna say that Tupac compares to even Prodigy? Never mind Biggie, for the moment. Gimme a break… haha!

What??? That’s sacrilege, bro haha! The Stooges are one of the greatest bands of all-time. Raw Power, maaaan… Makes me wanna stand up and cut myself with a broken bottle and bleed all over everybody haha!

American Beauty is a fucking GREAT album, but yeah, I’m with you. I really can’t stand “jam bands” and endless solos and shit. Unless it’s Coltrane or Miles or Thelonious Monk, I don’t wanna hear that shit. And sometimes even Bird gets on my nerves… haha.

No comparison.

But I did like this:

Side note: This is just for fun, I understand not everyone falls under one of the choices offered and a few things are missing like a Vape option and also the Soil/Hydro/Aquaponics question can all be done organically or synthetically so it’s not perfect. Feel free to skip any questions that don’t offer a suitable answer :v:t4:

Awesome. Forgot about this one.

I prefer my hip hop in front of flaming garbage cans not on the red carpet behind a velvet rope if you know what I mean.

For sure, dude! I was having fun, anyway. Am I starting to get dick-ish? Sorry if I’m getting dick-ish. I do that sometimes. I’ve got an opinion about fucking everything and I like to talk about them. Music, especially. I always get weirded out when people say they don’t have an opinion about something. I dunno how that’s even possible. “Are you dead?!?” haha.

@minitiger That wasn’t aimed at you bro, you always be you and that’s why I like you haha

100%

we can blame Puff for that era.

On another note Prodigy over an Alchemist beat is like gravy on roast beef.(not sure where that analogy came from haha)

I didn’t know you stopped; good for you.

I’m an asshole to my own mother- but she knows I don’t mean it.

great job with this!! having to choose between metal gods and Bob Marley was definitely rough…dry herb vape option would be good too

So most people grow from seed w/ organic soil, would not have expected that, interesting reading of OG’s culture

I’m thinking a lot of those people think they’re growing organically, but really aren’t. Like they’re using Hammerhead or whatever on their plants, 30-30-30 or whatever, thinking it’s organic, when it’s really not.

Starring Tim Roth and Tupac! Doesn’t get more 90’s than that…
