OH420's Adventure in Monstercropping

Hello OG’ers. I just finished a few plants that I was making seeds with and got my tent cleaned out, and I was going to take a little break for the winter but I have this plant in a small basement tent down there in the cold and decided to let her live. I was originally just going to let her re-veg a bit and take a couple cuttings then trash it. I usually take cuttings from everything I run just in case I want to keep it around, but she was a late substitution for a 2 week old seedling that mutated and I didn’t want to run it. So she got a late start in bad potting mix and got outgrown by the older plants but her buds had a very different smell that I’ve never smelled before. The best I can describe it as maybe cloves or something along those lines. Anyways, she was a low yielder of some beautiful extremely dense buds. I’m guessing I maybe got 1/2 oz from her at best. She re-vegged pretty well considering the lack of care in the cold basement getting leftover flower nutes. She now has a nice warm tent all to herself to see what she can do. For some reason she seemed stuck in a state of preflower the entire time even though getting 16 hours of light. I went ahead and flipped to flower after maybe 2 days in the new tent.

This was her the first time she flowered.

Here are a couple budshots. They matured to a deep purple.

Here she is after the harvest. I left a lot of small buds on her to hopefully make some new shoots.

Here she is after a fair amount of neglect and cal/mag deficient and hungry.

She has taken to her new home well and actually looks like she’s gonna produce something this time lol. Anyways I’ve been super busy at work and that last pic is at least a week old by now. By this weekend I’ll post some updated pics.

Right on man! :+1:t4:

I myself have got a mostercropped mother in the closet thats gotten outta hand. She’s been hacked at, supercroped, and cloned. Unfortunately she’s not an easy cloner. So I gotta take a couple dozen more, then flower her out.
Been thinking about a screen.
You can do alot under a screen with a wild plant.

Here she is 5 days from the last pic. She’s starting to stretch and green up some. I’ll probably start bloom nutes within a week or so.

Yea, she needs a bunch of the lower growth trimmed off. I already trimmed off a giant pile and I have a lot more to go.

Today I was able to chop a bunch more of the lower growth off. I know you can barely tell though but I got a plastic grocery bag full off of her but ran out of time as the lights were about to shut off. I’ll probably get some more tonight when the lights come back on. The new stem growth is now green instead of the purple she was when i brought her in there. It’s nice only running 1 plant though, it cuts my watering time drastically. Looks like she’s gonna take over the whole tent anyways lol.

Hey, thanks, I really appreciate it. Since this is my first monstercrop, I’m really surprised at how the bud structure has changed. Originally she only produced sparse golf ball bud sites with none over a couple inches long. This time she looks like shes going to stack and produce normal full length buds. She’s drinking a gallon a day now but I find it a lot easier to manage than my normal 4 in a 4X4. I think she’s gonna be close to filling the tent. Fingers crossed.

Here’s a quick update. She’s on day 18 of flower and looks like it’s gonna be smallish buds again but a lot more of them. I started upping the bloom nutes a little but now seeing a little tip burn. Run-off ph was good last I checked but she’s gonna finish purple again, I can already tell.

Well here she is today. I hate a plant that cant hold itself up… Anyways she’s looking pretty though despite 2 trellises to hold her tiny buds up lol. She’s definitely a drama queen, and would never make it outside

Well here she is. Almost 6 weeks into flower and smelling really good. Almost all buds are laying over at this point but since she’s the only one in a 4x4, I’ve got pretty good air flow and places to lay the branches. She went 10 weeks last time, but ths time I think it may be a little sooner. I hope you all had a good Christmas!!!

Well, I didn’t think I was going to grow her again but as she matures I remember why I re-vegged her in the first place. I just checked on some cuttings I took 5-6 weeks ago in the refrigerator and they still look like they can grow. I’ll probably give them a shot. If they root, it was meant to be lol.

Well, here is the last bud standing on its own. Everything else is laying on some kind of support. Her bud stems are are small and this is one of the few plants I’ve grown that actually require support. After all the work I think it’ll be worth it.

She’s starting the small foxtails she had last time but not the obnoxious ones lol. She’s actually in very cool temps this time so it must be genetic. The last time I was hitting 100+ temps in the tent and figured it was the heat.

This was the first time she flowered. Probably going to be identical

Well, I just pulled the cuttings out of the refrigerator and was gonna fire up the cloner but the cuttings were frozen solid and I dont think theyll make it. I really dont want to re-veg this plant again…

Great run! Couldn’t you just take a cutting now versus revegging the entire plant?

Yea, I’ve never tried to root a bud cutting but I’ve seen it done many times. I might give it a shot.

I think it would be worth your effort.
