That UK Cheese is THIIIIIIIIIIICK!!
Damn lol I guess I will have to start earlier next year to keep up with the trees you and @Oldtimerunderground get
Lol @Kushking902 I just started some beans for outdoor, @Pigeonman is light years ahead of me this year
That reminds me how late can you start photo seeds for outdoor and still get a decent amount of bud? Asking for a friend
Lol I seen your trees last year so I wanted a big outdoor tree too, mine are 5 or 6 weeks old and I thought I’d be good to go. I guess I have some learning to do when it comes to outdoor trees
I had a buddy who, I kid you not, started some in early July (big pots) and still got a pretty decent harvest. Blew my mind.
Should still make for some nice big trees if they have room to spread their roots and take off in good soil unhindered. The Black Garlic and Afghani I grew were started April 1st last year I think, and still produced 5+ lbs.
Outta likes but that gives me hope @api312
They are in 2x2x2 foot holes in a pre existing garden The holes filled with an organic soil mix. BC pinewarp and white cherry truffle
More done today!
Added a drinking fountain for the birds that’ll also oxygenate the pond’s water.
We finalized the water barrel and swing chair area. Here is Mrs. Pigeon enjoying a wee sit.
My neighbours have prioritized incorrectly with regards to their property managment. I could have done the entire thing but their fence is still on its side rotting and in my way… The fuckers decided to work on their veg beds for 2 days in a row instead of addressing the property line…
I spent 20$ on t-posts; everything else here material-wise has been collected from the curb on garbage/recycle days throughout this spring.
Built with skids, t-posts, wire, and an old broken futon frame.
I ended up borrowing the “Hammer of Vaino”, which is our t-post rammer made by my grandfather ALSO made out of scraps from the curb but in the 70’s. His name was Vaino hence the name and it’s now going to live here on this property again.
This will be posted in my indoors thread later today; but I did all this after smoking a sample of the now jarred BOG Sour BluTooth F2
All the best folks! Gonna eat and have a nap before I end up doing more:hugs: ff and hurting myself lol.
Looking really nice! Your garden just oozes peaceful
Epic!!! I can’t wait to see it make some pawpaw fruits! Your outdoor thread is just so amazing @Pigeonman
…ARE YOU READY FOR A 92 PHOTO UPDATE?! BECAUSE HERE IT IS!!!
Press Play, then scroll down to continue.
To start let’s look at the actual Cannabis plants growing out here before I end up photo-dumping the rest of the flora
The UK Cheese is on the left, and the Manitoba Poison is on the right. They’re dealing with the transition well enough and the yellowing you see is caused by this transition. It WAS rainy when they came outside, but then it got really dry so I’ve been hand watering them to keep up as they throw out new shoots everywhere.
Yes that’s a 5 gal bucket next to them for size reference and I’ve been watering everything by carrying these 5 gal buckets out from my basement to where they are needed as a form of functional strength training. (it’s working btw )
The AutoFlowers are also taking off! Today is day 28 and the shade cover is off. The protections during the heavy rain and dappled light did wonders with helping them transition… I will be doing this with everything next year so I’ve got time to get the parts together to make that happen.
I’ll take individual shots of each plant later today near the evening so we can all see them up close.
All the plants above have been hit up with 2 rounds (so-far) of @BudBusterPro and I’m seeing the gains.
Now we move on to the rest of the yard, with this update being the BIG SPRING PHOTO DUMP as it’s fun to see how they all develop in the season to come.
Asparagus & Rhubarb:
Rain gathering station & Swinging Chair so we can relax and look into the raised beds.
The Camo-Gazebo aka: shade spot in the far back yard. (Berry bushes behind it.)
Red Currant on the left, with Pink Gooseberries on the right.
Black Currant… that hasn’t produced for me IN YEARS… .
Red & White Currants with a newly planted Wild Ginger in between the cones so I remember to water it lol.
Backyard pond/water reservoir/animal water station; now with bird drinking fountain/agitator!
Our Canoe and the wall-o-Nettles.
In the raised beds there’s the “Turtle Pond”; this runs year round as a water source.
The Tomato plants are didn’t appreciate too much light indoors but there’s a good amount of roots under there lol. Rodade and Moneymaker types.
The Huglekulture pile which is gonna get filled up with Black Oil Sunflowers this season as a starting run.
Collard Greens and extra space for my Garden Huckleberries that will be planted later tonight.
Dyer’s Broom; makes yellow dye.
Herb patch with Oregano, Lavender, Sweetgrass, Lemon Balm, Lemon Grass, Madder (the yellow flowers, but the roots make a red dye), Valerian, and Weld (another dye).
And the other side of the same patch we can actually see the Valerian (roots used for sleep). Behind it is a Tayberry I am going to make a mini-arbour for out of scrap wood either today or tomorrow.
Dinosaur Kale, also not appreciating the “too much light” indoors lol. Behind it are all raspberries which grow all over the yard so I dig them up and weave them here.
The Wisteria is small but will flower again for us this year.
We have White Mulberries everywhere because the animals bring em to our yard to eat from the neighbours. I let them grow up to a point and then bush them like this.
The view from inside the Rambling Rose Arbour is outstanding!
My partner has done faboo job with maintaining and caring for these roses I bought her 10kg of Chicken shit and she for the 1st time in her live appreciated getting shit.
Speaking of Roses … here’s the other hedge she works on near daily that’s now 8ft tall and will fill into a solid mass as the growth continues.
The “Walking Grove What Lives Above the Hidden River” is doing “okay”. Winter was rough with the temp changes in “this old house” so I I can only sit here and hope for the best as the new shoots keep appearing.
All my citrus got a dose of Jack’s Citrus nutes yesterday and will now be getting a lesser dose per watering in hopes of gaining back what was lost over the winter debacle.
The family 30+ year old White Grapefruit tree.
Ruby Red Grapefruit tree.
Makrut Lime tree.
Bay laurel… which got devastated by the fluctuations and dried out before I noticed. … It’s alive with new shoots; i’m just waiting for enough of them before I lop off all the truly dead matter.
I put the Bay tree next to the Goji Berry for encouragement… this is why.
On another positive note; the birds love the new “sitting tree” we added to the structure the Hops climbs each year and they is making those Hops grow bigger and faster than ever before!. There’s also a Flowering Raspberry still in pot that I plan on putting in the ground later today.
And our 2x PawPaws; while 1x is flowering the odds are low that i’ll fruit unless someone in the hood also has a PawPaw cause the second tree didn’t flower so there is no chance in my yard alone of pollination.
I put Sweetgrass everywhere… and it turns out that the cat’s like it too! Here is Cilantro demonstrating lol.
This grass surrounds our 1908 Clawfoot Tub pond which had lilies last year. Sadly they didn’t make the winter this year so I think I’m just going to put in a pump to keep this moving and O2 rich and then find duckweed to make a nice green thing to stare at.
The marble filled tray is a water station for pollinators. The marbles allow them to safety access the water without the risk of drowning.
The Mugwort is filling in and has a wonderful contrast with the willow fence that is now preventing us from having to look at the garbage heap that is the neighbours rat, tick and mouse infested back-yard.
The carboy is illuminated at night with solar lights.
On the porch everything looks “meh” but I keep reminding myself it’s only been a few weeks since they’ve been out and have a whole season to grow! lol.
Jasmine
Hummingbird Sage
Guyanese Scotch Bonnet Pepper (7 years old)
Guava Tree
Black Olive (Bonsai)
“Mystery” Cannabis from under the post-box and Catnip.
41 Year Old Christmas Cactus
Dwarf Date Palm
Plumeria (Blue flowers)
Plumeria (Purple Flowers)
Crown of Thorns (Red)
Backyard cat house (currently Heathcliff’s summer home) with Night Blooming Jasmine
All my plants that are small enough to fit here and that can’t survive the zone 6a climate get to live here for the summer.
Sea Onion(s)
Rose of Sharon (Purple)
Canadian Prickly Pear 1
Dwarf Pomegranate Tree
Canadian Prickly Pear 2
Hibiscus (Orange)
Crown of Thorns (Yellow)
Aloe Vera (OLD plant, was gifted to me years ago)
Hibiscus (Mixed Yellow and Red)
Cardamon (Small x2)
Hibiscus (Purple)
Night Blooming Jasmine (small)
Side note; all through the yard there are disco balls so there’s sparkling beams of light everywhere
On the way up to the front yard the larger Cardamon is sending up shoots.
In the same pathway grows our Bleeding Hearts…
…and the Wild Grapes…
…which all start with this potted White Mulberry tree that does bear fruit!
In the very front we have the wildflowers shooting skywards. Last year they got 8ft tall… On the right most edge (along the drive-way) all the Cosmos are coming up.
Our front yard looks nice and green but is filled with colour if you look closely because it’s not just grass.
You can see what I mean here.
If you get to close you’ll have to deal with my Gnomes.
One of the new kids on in the block is this Honeysuckle.
This Juniper smells so nice when I brush up against it. I keep it clipped tight even though it wants to spread out more.
The Butterfly bush took it hard this winter and all the growth from the past 2 years died off.
I’m thankful the roots are strong and it’s sending out new growth as the spring continues.
My 2x Creeping Jenny hanging baskets. They waterfall green with yellow blossoms later in the season.
The Morning Glories are waking up…
… and they are surrounded by flowering Geraniums.
Our Apple tree is LOVING LIFE.
And should bear us some nice fruit even with the expected drops!
The wall-of-Mugwort grows upwards in-front of the Willow/Cedar fence as the Brugansia(s) start to send out this years growth from their winter dormancy.
And here’s what they look like from our evening smoking bench on the porch. In the back is the cat-house that Heathcliff chose to live in all winter and our “Guard Penguin”.
Well that was A LOT. Thanks for checking this out and I hope y’all enjoyed my world in grow.
Everything is looking so good!
Nice xmas cactus. I also have a very, very, very old cutting that’s been passed down in my family for a long time. Originally it was my great great grandmothers. Believe she got it in the early 1920’s. My mom’s grandmother kept it alive until the early 80’s and my mom kept it going for 30 years before I’ve taken over the mantle. Pretty insane to think the cutting is 100 years old. Gives me hope for the elite cannabis clones
I think there’s room in the back for one more plant.
Do you think the cardamom will produce pods?
I totally enjoyed seeing your world of plants and trees and just everything. Well done @Pigeonman.
LOL, OK here’s my opportunity! At the risk of ‘shilling’, You want BERRIES???
Try to get a couple applications of BBP @ 4ml/8oz applications on those berries before bloom. You can even shoot them at that rate during bloom…an let us know what happens!!!
Haha berrybusterpro
Yup, it’s fun to apply your left over diluted BBP on ornamentals or veggies…
I have a couple guys whose wives have hid their BBP just to make sure they have some for their gardens!
Spoiler alert…seen this on berries before!
Plant physiology is consistent across all species…it’s interesting to see how they manifest the effects of BBP!
Beautiful garden. How old is the palm tree? And how much room are you working with here? It all looks so full I’m having an hard time visualizing how big the space is!
I’m loving gawking at this, and it’s not even summer yet.
