I have been trialing this veg mix with a Salvia plant along with my herb and while the herb is fine for now, the salvia plant is for sure showing some kind of PK deficiency, maybe iron too…
I’m using GH CaliMagic wihich is the 1-0-0 but no iron… Do you think the botanicare calmag+ would be better even tho its 2-0-0 but has iron? Lame to have to add stuff… trying to be super lazy over here What would you recommend for PK boost to the classic? I have 10-30-20, I have mpk, and maxibloom
Keep 20/20/20 with added calmag / calmag plus as stretch feed
For veg use maxibloom ( 1/3/3 ) and use calmag+ ( 2/0/0 plus iron ) or use normal calmag but watch then for iron def and add if necessary
Same if using 1/3/2 then use calmag and watch for iron and change calmag if needed to plus
Then pk will be fine and you will see if iron needed or not
That’s you then dailed in : )
Your veg feed will be 0.5-0.75/1/1 in total with or without iron perfect
And stretch will be 1.5-2/1/1 perfect
Might sound confusing so I can reword if needed ?
In stretch we grow extreme leaf and stem plus we also build up bank of n in leafs as backup in flower if needed , also in two weeks after stretch we going into flower so plenty p and k will be used anyway , so in stretch 2/1/1 fine and does job well as only 2 weeks worth , leafs and stems will be good and p and k def won’t show cuz just two weeks worth then hitting with high p k feed after stretch anyways
Can’t do it perpetual unless you have lots of different Rez’s or mixing feeds for different plants ( time consuming )
This info tho will let you know what’s needed if def shows on some and how to correct it ( plants needs at different stages )
You could have two Rez
One stretch and one flower
When plants long in veg with stretch feed then feed with flower now and again to top up p and k in them etc
Or in veg put stretch mix + flower mix in equal volume in jug and feed or variety of depending how plant colour looks ie 1 third of one 2 thirds of other , in stretch use stretch feed and in flower use flower feed maybe
Why do all the really good ones always fizzle out?. Such a draaaaagg!!! Merry belated Christmas everyone… looking frigging stellar as always @Papalag !!!
because of octopts? I’m not using octopots… I bottom feed solo cups and then flood&drain for flower.
I’ve been feeding the same amount of gypsum+maxibloom to my moms and all my vegging plants for the last year+ without any issues. I do need to lower EC for young plants but that is all. Once every 9mo or so I need to flush the mom’s pots or repot but that’s it… The vegging plants get moved into flower when they’re tall enough. Usually 16" or so.
I’m just trying to find a similar way with jacks, to mix the same bucket every day and just use less or more water, to feed all my vegging plants and mom’s…
Sorry to clutter your thread @Papalag I’m also out of likes
The earth dust is a powder you add to the soil, it cooks for 2 to 4 weeks, for veg plants. Then there is a boost for flower, which you add when you first put the plants into flower, then one month later add to the top of soil. This does make it where I have to top water at points which we don’t normally do with the Octopots but it did not cause an issue at all.
My plants have never looked better, and I can not tell you how easy this is! I am like are you kidding me you are going out of business! And they are the ones who made the Electric Sky Led I had bought. They were an excellent company, one of those went out like 3 weeks before the warranty was up and they sent me a new one.
Plus this is the easiest and best mix I have used, no more fried plants. If they have been in veg for a bit and look like lacking, I simply add a bit of base to the top layer and water, and they bounce right back in a week. I have looked a bit and think there are other ferts like this that are so darn easy to use, the results and ease are simply amazing to me.
