I use steel wool to plug holes and even provide a :barrior … mice wont chew through steel wool.
Also soaking cotton balls in pure peppermint oil is a good repellant.
Nafta, is the best, the little round white balls old people used to put in their coats and all… Moth balls i think…
Or a few of these with fresh cheese, no mouse can resist the temptation…
Or something more fun, place cheese on the floor and hide with your BB/cup rifle ready! And Boom!
I never had a problem with rodents in my grow rooms.
However I do have experience doing battle with the pesky bastards.
A few years ago I helped a friend of mine manage a car wash. Well, the building was wickedly infested with an astonishing amount of rodents. They would actually scamper about the lobby, horrifying customers.
I used electric/electronic traps to keep the vermin under control and keep them from surprising customers.
I know that they can kill boatloads of mice and rats. Amazing.
Did you know that mice and rats don’t like those Cling Free fabric softener tissue thingys you throw in the dryer if you want you clothes covered in chemicals?
I knew, Tried everything that is out there. Lost more than I would like to admit.
Find where they are getting in your house. Plug all holes with steel wool or expanding foam. Expanding foam works the best. Foil tape will slow them down too. Tape around all the plumbing where it comes through the wall or floor. If you can stick your finger in it. A mouse can get through it.
Once all is sealed put out bait bars where only mice can get to it. In the little nooks and crannies even behind air vents under raised cabinets.
Tomcat bait bars is what I use. Haven’t seen one since I’ve started using it. Just two that where found staggering around dyeing. Before that we could hear them screwing in the walls and closets.
I just had a puppy eat a quarter of a bar and it didn’t slow the little shit down. (rotwiller) Just make shore your dogs/puppies can’t get to it. They think it’s a chew toy.
Good hunting…
i’ve never seen a mouse or droppings but i do have 3 cats who would likely love to play with them
Cats around here kill a lot of good birds, but for mice etc. they are a good solution.
Agreed, for indoors, this is your best bet.
I’ve personally taken one out that would not stop chewing at the inside of the wall with my .22 caliber pistol; but I have heard that peanut butter is the best bait.
