OMG , my partner took a series of quick shots of Heathcliff the Amgry Wizard as he yawned and then shook his head.
SUCH MAJESTY

Looks like he’s hung over
Me: (opens blinds) "Celia!! it’s March 27 and there’s snow outside. "
Celia: (opens ONE eye and mleps) I have no concept of time, and some concept of space… keep your human troubles to yourself human… (Mleps again & closes eye)
@DrGonzo13 , here’s an image of me holding my long haired Weiner “Sponge”.
By this time he was 16 years old, totally blind and always in a sweater due to old-man-bones. We’d take him on “walks” but it was us walking and carrying him around so he could smell the places he used to walk himself.
I was showing him this rather nice “rock” which was in fact a lake tumbled brick.
Technically not a pet, but Mr. Bunnykins or Peter, or perhaps it was Patricia or the Mrs. Grand Duchess.
I caught it having a nap up against the Neighbour’s house, in the warmth of the evening , while I was having my after dinner doobie!
Nature is awesome!
I see them in my yard. Unfortunately for them so do my dogs.
One of the hardest things in my life was putting my Jack Russell named Piper down. It still, almost 10 years later, makes me cry. Tearing up just writing this. She was the best dog one could hope to have. I buried her still warm body, wrapped in her favorite afghan, in her favorite place, my garden.
Sounds like she was a very good girl
She was a hunter dog, and loved dark places. I’d wake up every morning with her 6’ down under the comforter between my ankles or knees all curled up. She also responded to her name with no questions asked, even in the face of other dogs. PIPER, COME!
I’m so sorry for your loss, having to say goodbye to a beloved family member is never easy.
My Piper also loves to bury herself under the covers and lay down by my feet.
She will reach out and place one or both paws (usually on one of my legs) so there’s “constant contact”.
Of course she’s a Feline, but put a blanket over her and she’ll sleep there for hours like no one knows she’s the big lump under the blanket!
She also doesn’t “PIPER COME!” for anyone, including me, but that’s a cat thing too, they can be independent.
Thanks so much!!
My current pet is a lady cat too. Monique couldn’t be more different than Piper, but no non human animal loves me as much as Monique does.
A wise person (my grandmother) told me a long time ago that pets are here to teach us about love and loss. And with the death of Piper, she was right.
