We had to lay our Chachi boy to rest two days ago. Hardest fucking decision of our lives so far. He was 17, and it was his time, he told us :heart::heart::heart: each day is a little more peaceful than the last, but we’re still feeling ALL the feels.

Rest easy, lil buddy :heart::heart::heart::heart::heart:

Very sorry for your loss. I have felt that pain myself to many times.

Thanks you guys. It is painful, but it will ALWAYS be worth it.

I’ve had dogs and cats before and she’s had cats, but this was our first baby together. He was older than our marriage; in fact so is our cat Jonie

She’s 16 now. Tiny lil brat-cat is getting SPOILED with love and kisses while we all transition into this new Life without the boy :heart::heart::heart:

Sorry you lost your fur baby man :cry:

Ours is 14 this year, she is losing her sight and hearing now, and the walks are getting shorter in distance, and longer in time. It’s all about the long slow sniff now, not the exercise. I am dreading the day I have to take her to the vet.

This is the glamour shot of the boy on my profile picture… I can tell that he KNOWS he’s pretty…

He literally looks like the real life version of puss in boots :joy:

@ColeLennon I’d much rather have a feed full of owls than nonsense people airing dramas. I also like memes :100: most of mine is boats :sailboat:

Really, really weird:

Most cats will “right” themselves if they fall asleep and slide out of the chair… mine falls asleep so soundly that she stays asleep when she hits the floor… whether she falls from the coffee table, arm of the easy chair… or from the top of the TV tray. BOOM… shakes the entire house! Scares the crap outta me, and every time it happens, I am just sure she has broken her neck…

I finally started putting pillows under everything!

Then, I go pick her up, thinking she’s dead, and get this look:

(“Why the heck did you wake me???”)

@Joker

I saw the picture of your cat eating dog food…

I hope you also feed it cat food… there is a mineral in cat food that is missing from dog food that they need to remain healthy… taurine.

Also, if it’s a male kitty, he needs wet food to keep from getting urine crystals. It is a miserable way to die and the treatment for it is also awful and not guaranteed to cure it.

Such a simple thing to avoid with the right food for your cutie.

In my experience cats will always try to sneak some Dog food when they can and Dogs will always sneak Cat food if they have a chance.

The cats always have food in their bowls so I think they are just looking for a different taste to mix up the monotony of the same food.

The Dogs eat the cat food because they are Dogs and that is what they do… Plus… I am sure the cat food taste better…

Just my .02

Thank you for the knowledge. He always has dry food in his bowl and also gets can food. But I didn’t know about the wet food and urine crystals. Thanks!!

@Maddawg

Yes, they love to sample everything and there is absolutely no harm in letting dogs routinely eat cat food, or cats OCCASIONALLY have a little dog food as long as cats are mostly getting cat food… don’t take my word for it… look it up yourself.

Cats need taurine that is not found in dog food. If they don’t get enough, it affects them in their senior years. And yes, it’s true, the cat food probably does taste better (though I can’t speak to that personally, LoL… but it certainly smells better and has better texture, etc.), so it’s not surprising that the dogs would gobble it up.

If you simply must feed all the furballs together and can’t control the amount of cat food the feline family members are consuming, the simple solution would be to stop buying dog food altogether and only serve cat food… problem solved.

The only issue you might encounter is if the dogs overeat due to the amazing new food… in that case, you might have to resort to what my friend did and use a table or elevated ledge for the cat’s bowls and leave the dog’s bowls on the ground. Kitty can eat from both, but the dogs can only have what they can reach. That gives you control over portions and content.

Best wishes to all your furry friends!
