@hollyho and @BeagleZ I hope you find something nice. I haven’t run the sticky dancer yet but it will be part of my outdoor, cavalcade of autos.
Thanks @Qtip! Was thinking of doing the Sticky Dancer outside as well
Will deff let you know how things turn out when they do
I’ll run at least one next auto run also!! Or as soon as I get some space! May have to run it on 12/12 but I’m too ready
GMA1 day 48f and the BH x Mikado day 12f
Looking up at the GMA canopy.
Cut a few leaves out of the GMA1 but it’s mostly bud.
@Rogue, I have been reading your thread recently, and, inspired by your “chuck it in and see what happens” style. So I have, tobacco (2types Virginia and aztec spirit) from @WubbaLubbaDubDub, chunk of ginger, some green onions, pepper seeds and an unknown weed seed.
I’ve been absent as of late but I’m still keeping up on everyone’s journals, i likes rogues living mulch thing he’s got going on too!!
That’s rustica tobacco, commonly known as shaman,Aztec, spirit, etc
It boasts 24-26+% nicotine if grown right, it’s got tiny leaves compared to the Virginia you’ll be growing it with.
It’s the strongest variety if you want to make pesticide, otherwise mix it with the Virginia when you smoke it.
Any bug that lands on tobacco gets stuck and dies so just be sure to wash it come harvest time I’m excited to see you grow it.
I started some this year too, need some fresher seed if nothing else
How is growing tobacco different than weed? And where do you get it to begin with??
I bought mine on eBay like 9-11 years ago and have been saving seed since, mice got 3 other varieties that I had though😭.
It’s completely legal to grow, tobacco seed shouldn’t be hard to find at least in Canada and USA.
It’s super easy to grow, it kills all pests that might try to mess with it. It doesn’t grow buds that can mold on you either, hardest part is the dry/cure which is different than weed.
Edit- I’ll agree with @Oldtimerunderground the initial seed starting can be annoying. But once it gets one season and produces seed it’s like a biannual where you planted it
Edit- sorry to hijack your thread @Qtip
When I went to a big music festival in North Carolina, Virginia tobacco(yellow flowers) were growing as a weed along road sides and by the campground connected to charlotte speedway
Pretty much the same, but I find tobacco to be a little harder to grow compared to Cannabis.
Like @WubbaLubbaDubDub said, from seed.
Mice got me good last year. 2 huge bags of pods I left open in the shed for a couple days, completely empty when I found them
Looking fantastic Mr. Q!!
I can’t wait to see how those beautiful Blockhead Mikado ladies do.
How long does it take? I guess I need to look it up, you guys have me curious now lol I could do a spliff grow
About 4 months or so. Germination feels like the longest part of the process, after they get a certain size they start to grow like crazy. Some of the ones I let go to seed were about 8 feet tall by the time they were finished.
SHIT so that was my problem then growing the 1000 year Sacred Tobacco the year I did! I didn’t get them popped with enough time in mind!
If you start seeds now and transplant them out in the beginning of June, you should get a nice haul. I’m kinda surprised more people don’t grow it for the aesthetic value alone. It really is a beautiful plant, especially the kinds that have huge, tropical type leaves.
I love using them to roll huge blunts, lol.
Edit. The leaf in this pic is not a tobacco leaf, but best believe that if it was, I would fill it up with ganja and blaze the shit outta that 10 pound blunt
THAT’s what I’m talking about!
Hell yeah! And looks like ppl would grow them along side the cannabis if they kill bugs. But I don’t have room for an 8ft Mary Jane, much less a tobacco plant
We are all learning from your knowledge @WubbaLubbaDubDub, thank you.
In about a week I’ll be cutting every leaf off again but I bet some are at least 8" already, excited to watch through flower.
Looking good @Qtip, I aspire to be that good at growing this plant.
