I’ve never trusted anyone with glasses.
I hate it when you get all cutesy and post. Flagged.
You wear glasses, don’t you? I knew it!
Ew, no, you flag.
it’s a non-issue, aka clickbait. it just gives you info they posted themselves on the internet. not like it’s actually doing anything considered harmful. but the headline sure makes it sound like it, doesn’t it?
I dunno X-ray specs can see you naked so it’s not much of a stretch…
did ya read the article? it’s not the glasses doing anything anyway, it’s the software. they chose the glasses because they look like regular glasses and are cheaper than their alternatives. i made a much better spy camera by using a raspberry pi, battery, and camera attachment to make a derby that had eyes in the back, right below the googly eyes i put on it. i could use my smartphone and watch the camera to see behind me. had i had that software, it would have been much better and it cost under $100 and $30 was for the derby. and to beat it all that’s the year they didn’t have the hack your derby at derbycon. it was still cool as hell though and i still have it all.
It specifically mentions the primacy of the hardware.
it did, then it went on to say this:
" Meta pointed that the PimEyes software can be used with any similar hardware with a camera and there is nothing in particular that Meta’s smart glasses offer that will aid with the project.
The students then gave their reasons for using Meta’s smart glasses, suggesting that the hardware looks like everyday glasses, unlike the other wearables, and does not come off as a device. This makes it easier to dox strangers with the device. The second reason for opting for the particular wearable was the price, which is $300 and much cheaper than similar products."
that sounds to me like just what it said, that they coyuld have used any camera with that software. any camera, meaning that the glasses were irrelevant. they could have made a similar system (and you would think a harvard student would be smart enough to figure it out much like i did) and done the same thing. that’s why it is clickbait and extremely misleading. you could go get these glasses anywhere and they couldn’t do what these guys did unless you put that software on them, period. unless it comes preinstalled…
That’s typically how it works, you either install it, or someone/someting else does.
It’s daytime unless it’s night time.
Did it pull up peoples adresss, social security numbers and other personal information? If so send me the software.
I dont care about the hardware that is not why I posted this information. I want the software that ties the glasses with the databases of personal information along with the facial recognition and display that information in real time for you to see.
In theory that’s a database call away.
Imagine having this tech for a drone to use to hunt down a single target to kill. We are going to have those little hunter killer drones from DUNE if we dont already have them.
read the article. it pulled info from instagram pages and other social media sites. the software is called i-xray according to 404media. that was in there also. so no, it’s just clickbait as i said, because it isn’t doxing anyone, just associating already available info from the internet. if you don’t want it out there, don’t put it out there.
Is this better
