Recycled Container Grow Off : 2021

No worries, there should be some damn fine ladies in the seeds from me. I sent extra, so keep some for you and disperse as you see fit on the rest

Tell me what you think we should do @anon93244739
Originally it was 50 first prize, 25 second place, and 10 for third. Now I should be doubling up to
100 first prize, 50 for second place and 20 for third ?
And do I mix your 170 beans to my 170 beans and then package or do them separately as two different prize packages ?

All up to you. I’d double up 1st 2nd and 3rd and spread the rest out to the other runners up. Maybe we can do a picture poll of each entry? I have no idea how to do that though.

when the time comes i’ll gather some photos and just do a post, though im edging more towards less competition at least for this one and really just a fun experience for all as my whole goal was to start doing some of these comp/challenges and get going at it.

Deffinetly a great learning experience. Next time I’m cooking with gas.

This was GREAT!!! Amazing that plants grow that huge in those little pots! Some clever ideas here and skilled growers! Do you do these challenges often? This is the first one I’ve seen here and I think this is so fun and interactive! If you haven’t yet, it would be cool to do some challenges like, see who can grow a plant the longest watering with anything other then water(soda, orange juice ex),or a grow medium other then soil, like wild bird seed, or shredded card board, idk just thoughts that crossed while going through this, maybe not the best ideas, but who knows. Definitely would love to see more grow challenges

agreed, I do not think there’s a need for competition.

I’ve always approached the comps as just some fun with friends here and a spot to bs and learn some new tricks along the way. But I can see and understand that feeling. Especially with the exodus of members over the last year.

Yeah this has been fun, found some cool journals to follow via the thread too.

Around day 60. I usually pick a bit early for a motivating effect, but I’d like to wait for these get a good amount of amber.

Nice plants gonna be plenty of bud with those, just guessing whats your fill volume on those containers 2.5Liters ish ?

@smokenhike awesome color fades, hope to join you shortly with some yellow leaves and purple hued buds.

I’m not sure. It looks a little less than 2.5. I’m used to standard measurements and trying to adjust to metric. I just looked at they say 24.2 oz on the outside. They are bigger than your yogurt containers. I may be oversized for the contest. Here’s a pic of any empty one.

Yeah 24.2oz of coffee weight wise not volume, what I do as a easy way to figure out volume if interested is if you have say a kitchen scale throw your container on it and tare it out then fill it with water, every gram of weight is 1ml in volume.

US fluid ounce wise every 1.043oz of weight equals 1oz of volume.

Darn. I scrolled up and reread this morning and saw 26oz. I thought it looked a little big. Oh well. I’m excited for the next one, now that I’ve got an automated watering system.
