Bud in a jar at the end of the day beats no bud so end weights are just icing.

@Mr.Sparkle , when calculating your power from the wall (in watts) to get the gm/watt ratio… do you also include electricity used by fans/ventilation/dehumidifiers as well? Or just the lights?

For my own personal measurements and what I post I include everything typically, so for that upper cab that 53watts is what the driver pulls and the fans and pumps which is barely 1w though say my bottom cabs the exhaust fan for those typically isn’t included as it’s on its own cord though is less than < 8-10w when it is actually running.

Saying that if I’m really hunting metrics I usually equate out grams/kwh per say 30days, though say a 9 week strain whether photo or auto when running 18/6 for the auto or 12/12 with a 3week veg time at 18/6 for a photo they are the same kwh wise in total at the end, so generic g/w works as comparison for me at least personally as it’s not often I’m running a 10+ weeker that will mess with the math.

Cure stage for me, been in a jar for the last two days with a boveda pack and weight has remained stable, so likely will still loose a gram or so when doing air exchanges for the next bit.

Seriously??? Jesus. That’s 2.5 oz!!

:wave:qustion! I see people open the jars and do a air exchange. Why?

To change out the more humid air for less, and to introduce some oxygen.

Thank You! I was only opening the ones with high humidity.

I jar mine when the buds snap off. After a day or 2 they are usually in the 70’s. I’ll open the jar for a few hours, lid and let the humidity stabilize again. I do that until stable 65%. Then open once a week for a few minutes, over about 4-6 weeks I drop to 58ish. That’s my happy spot.

Your lids really make a difference too. I stopped using the regular lids because RH dropped too fast. I’ve been using these pp5 lids with a silicon seal ring in them.

I am still using the regular lids and have to open and dump out as they hold too well. I put them in at about 70%. Maybe because it is so humid here right know. I put these on my list for later incase that changes.

During winter I found with regular lids my herb would become waaaay too dry. Like crumble to dust dry. These lids fixed that problem. The same lids I modify for mycology

i use regular lids, though if not use to them sometimes you can have one cracked a little and not know it, or definitely know it due to the smell.

And yeah air exchanges to replace the air thats in there with less humid even if i have say boveda packs in there or just to change out that stagnant air as otherwise the smell alters into that stale hay like smell or can. I usually only air exchange decently up to that cure range if say the buds are on the wetter side, though once in say cure range may be twice first week then once a week for the next couple then they just remained sealed after that, i typically just use say a chopstick and pull the buds away from the side of the jar and blow some air into it at a distance that way its not getting all your humid breath and instead ambient air is getting dragged in as well.
