Removing dog hair from LEDs?

I’m not afraid to admit it, I got two dogs and yes from time to time a dog hair or two makes it into the grow. Better than bird poop and caterpillars I figure… 🤷🏼

Anyways my issue with it is that it sticks to the LED panels and drives me crazy at the end of a run when I’m cleaning. I’ve tried just wiping them down like the manufacturers recommend but that does little to remove the hair. Any pro tricks for getting this off? Is compressed air safe? Thanks for any info.

I’ve used my shop vac with my soft bristle brush as well as an air compressor. All lights still functional.

Was going to suggest air compressor or the little dust blower cans, great minds and all that @Rhai88 :facepunch:t2:

Are we talking long hair or short? I’d have to see a cute picture of the dogs first.

Uggh, the gel coating on the vivosun leds really holds hair and dust. And if you wipe it, it starts getting foggy and pilly. I set them aside for more than just that, but that is part of the reason.

Some 90% Isopropyl should do the trick, no?

You make that sound so obvious lol but great idea! Thank you

Yes this is exactly the issue. I love @VIVOSUN lights and I’d assume it serves a purpose but it grabs hair and dust.

Shaving the dogs ^^
edit damned : And airsocks on intake or something similar, dogs and cats hairiness carry a lot of stuff. Mites, allergen saliva for cats, all types of unwanted dusts …

Try using the soft cloth and cleaner used on tv screens.

This is what HLG (Horticulture Lighting Group) Says;

Tldr; use Isopropyl Alcohol and soft cloth.

I’m all for air compressor at <12psi. Lights, fans, computer parts, laptops, any electronics pretty much :ok_hand:

The irony here is that one of the bastards is a little four pound dog and he has to get shaved every year for teeth cleanings. They don’t completely shave him but without all the fur he’s got legs thinner than your index finger looks hysterical.
