Rob’s on going grow journal

Had to go get some 2 stroke oil and I’ve been looking at these Fiskars says for precise trimming and shaping. Will be a few months before I’m doing any trimming, but the gardening section will be going away soon so decided I better get some now, can’t wait to try them.

After some canopy management talk over in @Joboo 's grow diary it had me kind of motivated, my lights were on and after a quick look these girls were ready for some more LST. I am excited as well lol I’ve done alot of reading and I didn’t fully understand how to train, I tied them once and that was all now i understand that I can keep tying new growth as it gets big enough.

I definitely can’t thank everyone on this forum enough for the crazy amount of knowledge people share! I hope I someday can pass this knowledge on to help others as well…

Great work rob!! For me to training technique I used was out of my comfort zone. Because for me doing the supercropping…it goes against everything you would consider logical. I mean literally breaking the plant in order to stimulate growth and to promote a strong structure. In my head it didn’t make sense no matter how man instructional videos I watched or how many articles I read it was hard for me to wrap my head around it. And then finally I had to force myself to not be afraid to try it. In my head I was going to kill my plants but then you let go and jump and it turns out fine just like when you’re a kid jumping off a big rock into a lake. Sorry kind of rambling about it. Point is I was way nervous about the method I use but sometimes you just gotta jump. Keep up the good work my friend. I look forward to the sweet bud shots!!

I understand, I am the same way and not just with growing. I’ve been watching alot of videos on YouTube and it helps when you see it being done and actually working.

exactly!! And until I put my hands on it and do it I never fully understand it. There is nothing like putting what we learn to action

I love training and would have to say with the exception of harvest I would have to say training is my favorite part of growing

Now that I fully understand it I think I’m going to enjoy it as well, it was quite nice this morning tying some branches down while I enjoyed my morning coffee… plus I love the looks of a nice full and even canopy.

Ok i need some help if anyone can offer advice. I’m wondering about feeding. My soil mix is basically a promix hp equivalent. 4 plants and the mix is 2 parts that 1 part perlite and 1 part sheep manure, I’m unsure if I should be feeding more or just leave them alone, I’ve gave them calmag twice, and other than that its been LITFA with PH’d water. I been wondering maybe the sheep manure isn’t providing enough or could it be too much ? I’ve been seeing these rust looking spots on leaves .

Honestly it looks like a slight calcium deficiency to me butbdefinitely wait and get some second opinions here. How long have you been noticing it and has it been getting worse? What does new growth look like?

Yeah im still going to have to go with calcium deficiency. It is just hard for me to say that that’s what it is definitively because my calcium deficiency was quite a bit worse so yours doesn’t look as bad. I dont want to say for sure it is a calciuk deficiency. It really doesn’t look like magnesium to me. Hope someone else with a bit more experience will respond to you. Is your ph in check?

Hmm I’m going to research calcium deficiency it’s a good start thanks! Yes ph is in range i use drops and its in the 6.0 range can’t say exactly but definitely in range.

I would guess calcium too. That soil mix has no lime other than the little bit in the original “pro mix”. Most likely driving the soil pH down. Whats your runoff pH look like?
