These look great @nube (as does everything you grow) not gonna lie I’m pretty stoked for these . Thanks for everything my friend
Thanks again for all the great updates dude!
That #7 is looking beautiful, I mean they all are! But I like the structure on the 7.
Are you getting much in the way of differing aromas on them individually?
Yeah I like the looks of that one too, rounded dome top looking buds. The #8 looks really frosty to me as well.
Looks like 7 and 11 are frosty broad leaf ladies and 8 is frosty with hybrid looking leaves.
Right back at you, friend.
I watched a documentary or two about this and it’s INCREDIBLE. Like truly mind blowing. You’re 100% right about the silent dialog happening in the plant kingdom, and we’re only now trying to listen. It’s crazy how much modern science has turned its back on ancient wisdom only to “rediscover” it years later. Plants have thoughts, feelings, emotions, and conversations too…just not in the same ways we do. Stuff like this makes me shake my head at the hubris of humans thinking we’re the only intelligent life on this planet. Don’t even get me started on mushrooms…
Let’s hope there’s a billion! That’d be a good problem to have… Also, I love your Alex Gray art avatar!
I can’t say anything for sure, but I appreciate your points of view. I guess it’s possible that some of what are called landraces are actually heirlooms, but it seems unlikely that that’s true for all of what’s claimed to be landraces. I still haven’t seen what I consider definitive proof that unguided pollination lowers THC content to hemp levels over time. We only really have speculation, but it’s a good discussion. And, let’s not forget, THC content is only a small part of what makes good weed good. Some of the most modest testing weed is the strongest smoke, especially when talking about the more equatorial “landraces.”
Wow am I glad you joined! Great to have you here. Also, that video is crazy - thanks so much for posting that! It mirrors what we’re seeing in the animal kingdom as well with huge loss of biodiversity. I don’t know if these preservation runs are contributing to biodiversity, but it can’t hurt. My family is farmers, some full time some part time and some hobbyist, going back many generations. I wish I could do organic, sustainable farming full time. Modern petrochemical monoculture agriculture is poisoning the land while also using all the water in the aquifers. And you know what most of those crops are being used for? Feeding livestock. Of all the wasteful things we could do, that’s about the top of the list. We’re so screwed… but thanks for the short poem!
You know, I usually top once pretty early, often when I transplant out of solo cups into 1/2gal pots, so between day 21v and 30v usually. And sometimes I’ll top again, but I try to do a little bending, pinching, and tucking after that. Usually I pinch a little too much and break at least one or two stalks… whoops!
That #11 has my eye as well, but honestly they’re all interesting. Like you guys said #7 has cool looking OG style buds with gorgeous leaves and an interesting blue snowcone smell. #8 is ultra frosty but smells like straight potting soil + bad breath. #9 has this weird cedar smell that I haven’t encountered before. #10 has a cologne smell with a gross funk underneath. #11 is og & berries with some chem d funk.
I’ll show a pic at harvest that shows #8 is ridiculously sticky…in kind of a gross way. That one is in the last half of flowering during the sensi rerun right now and it’s looking choice. Breaking up #8’s buds when shucking, it has a surprising amount of rank stank, like fish sauce and green chile or something! I thought it was the snow lotus leaner but it seems to have a different terp profile.
Also, I didn’t want to do this last bit, but I think it needs to be said. Since we don’t have a real way to do this via the site, I looked up the last 70 or 80 people who edited to the Wiki signups to see if most were just doing driveby signups or if they had actually engaged the thread, said anything, you know - participated in building the community. If your name is below, you didn’t follow my request to engage the thread at all with a post of substance. Booo! lol Please come back and add something of substance, engage your sisters and brothers in the discussion, and show some love instead of just collecting seeds. Please.

Also @old-ron and @Dirtron are you the same person under two accounts? Cuz I see you both signed up on the same day. Lvl 2 #46 and overflow #16…
Negative! I am the one and only Dirtron! And also the Dirtron only!
And I am pretty active on-site, although with the new babe at home I sometimes barely make it through checking my notifications and replying to DM’s.
@nube You don’t think I give back???
You need to ask around before making assumptions!!
Just because I haven’t started a thread…
What The Hell!!
You are very presumptuous!
It’s judging people like you is part of the reason I DON’T speak on here!!!
sorry,
I meant to check the like button, I really did! It must of skipped my mind after reading all of the gravitating commentaries that had been made up till that point and time. just rethinking, how it must have played out in, my mind. yeah, that must have been it.
regards,
Sorry, I have been neglecting to actually engage in the thread… I’m not sure how much I have to add that’s constructive, mostly. I’m also interested in whether random pollination by the earliest males actually leads to lower THC levels, since it does seem slightly counterintuitive that genetic drift would only go in one direction. There seems to be a lot of supposition around breeding, which is quite understandable considering that it’s all needed to be underground until recently… one of the nice things about having the mega-corps come in is that they have the money to do testing, assuming they don’t try to squash the competition in homegrowing and homogenize all the world’s strains.
Not sure it needs to be said, but this is obviously a beautiful grow. You know what you’re doing, and trying to offer help would be presumptuous of me… I haven’t popped in just to say wow all that often, but I could’ve sworn I’d hit like quite a few times. I think all preservations are good preservations, since my hunch is that the corporations are going to try to do exactly what I mentioned above - homogenize everything. Glad to participate if I’m welcome, but other than this load of waffle I just have nothing useful to say!
@Bobgrows brother Nube only asks that you engage in THIS thread. I read it as the nicest way possible to ask participants to be active in this particular thread and show more interest than just free seeds.
If you give away seeds or information here then you’re an awesome person and I’d like you to stay and speak some more.
I will remove my name…
@nube Have you ever grown sorcerers apprentice? Wondering how it compares by adding in the Appalachia male in addition to the snow lotus male from the original Cheech Wizard.
I guess I did do a dirty drive by didn’t I. So theses are gonna be fire. are you experiencing duds so far? The diablo OG is what really peaked me interest in these. It is a hard cut to find.
I don’t take any offense to it but you could of maybe worded it differently lol or maybe check our activity. No biggie Hard to get offended when 30 other people got tagged too lol
I don’t do sign ups too often (maybe 3-4 in over a year) but the Curry OG definitely caught my eye! The name alone intrigued me and the flavor description…and it’s Bodhi! Hard to keep track of all these damn threads too I almost forget I signed up for them
Hi @nube did the smells remain the same? especially the number #8, in my opinion, he is the champion for what he is doing with that small pot.
Sorry everyone I’ve been busy and haven’t had time to catch up on the thread. I’m new to this whole system and jumped on when the cross peaked my interest. I’ll try and do better and add some input, I’m just still trying to learn the ropes. I’m loving the progress though. Those males are looking quite nice. I think the #7 pheno is my favorite but they’re all stunners, nice job @nube
I’m sorry I didn’t want to clutter the thread up as I didn’t feel like I had anything to add at the moment but have been actively following along with this and your pura vida seed run (which I missed out on.) That said I really really don’t like the idea of being seen as leaching off of this just for seeds so I’m going to remove myself from the list. This was the first seed run I’d ever signed up for and obviously I made a mistake. I’ll still follow along here and would like to wish you the best of luck in your growing endeavors present and future.
@nube
Indeed, you are not wrong, and apologies for neglecting this conversation. I’ve gotten caught up in a few things in other parts of our site, and having not set your thread to “Watch” I’ve been missing notifications (an oversight now remedied).
In any event, beautiful plants, and thanks for the work you are doing.
Omg!, what a lack of manners for me, I forgot to thank you @nube for the excellent job you’ve always done in these seedruns since Sakura. And a special thank you also to @The_Lazy_Hippie who shared the love and donating seeds to this and other seedruns.
guys here it’s really hard to get bodhi genetics here where i live so i’m really grateful to you guys.
Garden is looking mad zen bud! Holy. I just wanna curl up in the corner and hang out. Bunch of beauties. They’re all looking amazing but #7 caught my eye at first glance but then #8 got me going back for a second look. Love those colours! #11 sounds like it has the best smells tho, not a bad structure either. Nice line up!
Just out of curiosity, it doesn’t look like you clean up the bottoms of the plants that much. Is there a reason for this? Just looking to see how the plant naturally grows? More surface area for seed production? looking for insights.
