Iā€™m not sure about nubeā€™s method of pollination, but what you described is definitely one way to pollinate plants. I know a lot of people have done it that way, with the tops in the vase/jar/whatever with some water. Pretty sure you just cut them right before they start dropping pollen, like a day or two beforehand, and put them in said vase/jar/whatever haha. Kinda like when you get flowers for your girl from a florist. A lot of people will put wax paper or parchment paper underneath the vase/jar and let the pollen drop onto that. Shaking the cuts over the females would work, too.

I would also like to add, my knowledge is mostly based off other peopleā€™s grow diaries, facts, and just reading on OGā€¦ I donā€™t personally feel I have enough experience to talk too much acting like I know what Iā€™m doing, when I really donā€™t to be honest. Iā€™m still learning @nube

Iā€™m going to be honest and say getting tagged in a very critical message 45 minutes after signing up for a seed run and being called a leach was pretty off putting to the point I felt I had to withdraw. Iā€™m active here and was just putting together my thoughts on this run to share and had no desire to just stream of consciousness post a comment the minute I signed up. Iā€™m sorry you felt what I did was ā€œdrive buyingā€ and I removed myself out of respect for you but I also felt your call out was pretty hurtful if Iā€™m being totally honest. I promise I would have pumped your tires up soon and I have thrown you 40-50 likes and followed this and the pura vida run very closely. Your plants are beautiful and your seed runs are a great resource for the community but the libelous accusations of leaching kind of hurt. @nube

Shit I need new glasses I went though that list 3 times looking to see if I was on it . Now Iā€™m going to look again thanks glad you pointed that out to me .

This is kinda what I do.

For full plants without cutting tops off, I lay parchment under the plant. Every 12 hours at lights on and off I come in and shake the branches over the parchment paper. I then take that parchment full of pollen and nanners and pour the contents onto a screen in kief/pollen separator box, like this one:

and shake it for a few minutes, do this two or three times over an hour or so and then can take the bottom tray out of the box and scrape the clean pollen right off the glass

I setup a small tupperware container nested inside a larger tupperware container with a bunch of silica desiccant beads in it. Iā€™ll put the pollen in the center clean container and leave it like that for a week or two to totally dry out, and then vial it up and freeze it.

When Iā€™m done transferring the pollen to the center tupperware container is when Iā€™ll come back and toss the nanners out of the center tray of the kief box. This setup has been working fantastically so far!

I find it amazing that somebody just making seeds for people isnā€™t good enough. But they are also expected to take each and every persons feelings into account as well ?
WTF is with all the extra drama that seems to show up in these co op runs? The person doing the work is allowed to do or say whatever tf they want in the thread. People having an issue with it need to deal with their own shit and stop picking on the big bad meany known as nube .

The seed co op runs were the entire reason I signed up here and based on the headaches that seem to be par for doing one , I doubt I ever will .
Who knew giving away FREE seeds could be such a drag lol

Yeahā€¦ thatā€™s legit why I just made my beans in my thread and passed them out to everyone that followed along with me, and then sent the rest to Sebring to give out. Some of things that come out on these threads, and the added pressure of everyone watching, made me not really keen on making a wiki sign-up

Definitely appreciate @nubeā€™s efforts though, some of the best effort Iā€™ve ever seen on these preservation runs

Nice, Iā€™ll have to look into that sifter box. Iā€™m not really intending to save pollen, it seemed like from my research that it was a tough proposition to keep it viable for more than like a month or so, but maybe Iā€™ll give it a shot, I do have a shitload of desiccant packs lying around after buying em in bulk. I guess if Iā€™m gonna go that route I might just isolate the males in my 2x2 and collect in there. My intention in following nubeā€™s method was to avoid having to turn the lights on in a separate tent, and keeping things pretty simple, but hell, whereā€™s the fun in that!! Actually chances are I wonā€™t truly make up my mind until itā€™s time for pollen to drop, that seems to be my way haha

Been a great follow along for as lat as I got inā€¦ Been so damn busy I miss a lot of great threads.

Alsoā€¦ Anyone taking the time and space to preserve strains and give out the seeds to a community needs to be respected and appreciated.

I agree. Iā€™d say Nube is asking very little of folks. He could easily just pass me all those seeds .
I too was very excited to see the reproductions and especially ones with good motives such as this but I have only signed up for one (not this one) :man_shrugging:t2:

Been there!! Such a good feeling when youā€™re done and seeds arrive in Sebrings hands. Run looking amazing, sure it ended amazing due to the long hours schucking.

Kudos to you @nube !!!

Thatā€™s some strong kungfu, right there. Respect.

This is actually exactly what I do too :joy:
Here you can even see the parchment paper, male is my own/joint creation Starlite Daydream (SSDD F2 x Starlite)

The male 2x2 tent stays in a separate room in a separate area. Pollen collection is all in that room and I keep a spray bottle handy to mist everything and the air when I leave.

Thatā€™s pretty much a part-time job, so even if you donā€™t mind, you could definitely be forgiven for getting a little annoyed and taking it out on us a bitā€¦ not like weā€™re paying you for all this work! If all you want is a conversation every now and then, Iā€™d be happy to oblige. Just as long as youā€™re not demanding good conversation, because then Iā€™m gonna be sitting here scratching my head for the next week coming up with something useful to say. :stuck_out_tongue:

are you sending these yourself, or are they going to the new co-op system? because if itā€™s the latter, Iā€™ll probably never see them, anyhow!
Iā€™ve been trying to order from that thing for over a year now, donā€™t work. Iā€™m not trying to be a dick about it, but if we are going to be honest about it, there it is.
most of the time lately, I probably donā€™t check back on sights because of this reason. I have not signed up for more than a handful of seed runs in the last year because of said reason, also!

Re: the corporations, my only experience so far is going to Mass, You know the state where Boston is, it is a bitch to spell. Well the prices for cannabis are high and the tax is 20% and I was not impressed with most of the flower. I do like the Vape Products and I like the coolness of having it in your pocket when you go to the menā€™s room or out for a walk when out to dinner with your older relatives. Big Corporations have homogenized our food including meat no reason not to do same Its a dollar driven world I gave someone some of this years outdoor that is a sativa, I do not know the name I have been cloning it, re-vegging it for next year again, 3rd time, well anyway he say his friends say best high they have gotten, They are total dispensary dependent. So Kudos for Eagles 009, you are keeping us in the right place like my neighbors whom we paid for our Thanksgiving Turkey back in June I think when it was a little critter, Organic, probably twice the cost of a supermarket bird but 3x as good all around, same with these genetics and Seed Runs, so good!

Sad but true. Unfortunately, standardization is key to scalability; things need to be reduced to the lowest common denominator for a multi-national corporation to function. That also means reducing all the variety, but itā€™s how 8 billion of us manage to survive this planet on a day-to-day basis. Without standardized, scalable processes itā€™s unlikely weā€™d all be able to feed and clothe ourselves, much less do anything else. Itā€™s not exactly my favorite system either, but Iā€™m not sure I can come up with a much better one off the top of my head. That being said, I intend to fight like hell for the right to at least try to care for my own needs without corporations. Iā€™m allowed to try to feed and clothe myself without them, Iā€™m allowed to build my own electronic (and potentially dangerous) devices without them, even if I choose to pay them for it sometimes - why canā€™t I try to grow my own medicine without them? Anyway, I think weā€™re drifting away from discussion of Cheech Wizard and into politics. :open_mouth: I assume everyone here is on the side of home-growing, but still, time for me to stop hijacking the thread.

Kudos to @Eagles009 for his seed run as well, yes, but I think you might have drifted into the wrong thread too; this is @nubeā€™s seed run. :stuck_out_tongue: Kudos to both, though!

Yes my apology to @nube for drifting into your seed run
