This is crazy! Lines up with what I saw on “fantastic fungi” talking about how plants within forests can communicate with and even feed one another through the fungal networks in the soil. Crazy flick, highly recommended if you haven’t already seen it. So basically the theory is that by restricting the roots initially and then allowing them space they experience a surge in growth after the bottom is removed and the whole pot replanted? Intriguing stuff for sure
Yes I have, awesome.
Great work and thank you @nube, exciting preservation and everything looks on point!! And you tread thru the interweb w such grace A++
Looks like someone overwrote my original signup…
So now I am in TL2 #46
Glad I checked. I would be bummed to miss this!
Psyched to still have a seat on the bus!!! Y’all had me at Bodhi!
Thanks for running this @nube!!!
Since I started with autoflowers, I’m always interested to see the photoperiod strains breeders use in their auto crosses. Daz at Night Owl has Wizards Apprentice which is his auto take on Cheech Wizard.
Anyone grown them both?
I have not, but it’s no surprise! Auto are really taking off! And it only takes 3 generations to take a photo to auto. Now how much of a photo strains traits make it through that process is debatable, but can be increased with care, good selection, and a big enough pool of plants.
I expect the auto version would remind one of, but not be the same, as the photo line it is derived from. My $.02.
Hey sorry bro. Turns out I was already on the list thanks to @misterbee. When I started it said something about editing so I moved the name down about 4 spots. But, when I hit the save edit it reverted back to your spot I guess. It’s not real clear when that’s happening. I thought by moving my name down would keep me away from messing somebody else up. I need to pay better attention. peace
I have both scheduled for Spring 22 outdoors.
Ohhh pick me pick me!!!
Also those fans on the #9 male look like they could palm a basketball… jeeezzzz
No stress @GMan!
Just wanted to make sure it wasn’t something personal!
Yeah unless you post 1000 times a day in the free shit threads, you can’t keep your status level up so trying to sign up for co-ops is pretty pointless. The system unfortunately can’t work for everyone so basing it around active participants does make sense though.
I realize that one can only make so many seeds but the 50 slots per tier just doesnt seem like quite enough these days with the big influx of people wanting seeds.
Edit, oh shit sorry didnt mean for my post to sounds like I’m shitting on people who post in certain threads. Just typed in a rush
I understand your criticism; I really do. But the great thing about it is, YOU have the option to open up your next free seed run to as many people as you’d like! AND…you don’t have to use any tiers! Just let everyone sign up who wants them, and you can even include people who join OG just to get your seeds!
BTW - I noticed you haven’t actually done any seed runs for the community. If you ever do a seed run, perhaps you’ll understand the limits that some people establish when they offer up free seeds to us. It’s usually not about how many seeds can be produced, it the headache and costs that comes with the logistics on the back end.
Nice. I look forward to following that.
Perhaps one day I’ll try something similar with NO’s Blue Microverse and Dynasty’s Blue Magoo BX2.
No worries, I edit/dump a quite a few of my posts when I re-read.
Cheers
G
Just a passing comment about how there’s so many people wanting seeds vs the amount of seeds one could make in a seed run. Made seed before which is how I know there is a limit on how much you could produce and post.
This is badass. Thanks for making this happen. Always wanted to give this one a go.
No worries! Catch us on the flip side and make sure to spread them around to the rest of the thread. Let’s make it a good ol fashioned love in, a la Woodstock!
It’s so funny you mention that. I had only heard of bodhi on the original Overgrow back in the late 90s and early 2000s, but never grew any of his stuff until six or seven years ago. After testing seeds for several other big name breeders, now I practically won’t grow anything besides bodhi or fgens made from his work. Every single pack has had something good in it. It helps to run full packs, too.
I hope you were able to add your name to the list. Let me know if not! I think Gooeybreeder is still active on Breedbay.org if you’re ever looking for his strains! He does sell direct.
@Limeflavouredheadbut @DougDawson @Nagel420 @Moka @BirD @Astrodude
Glad to have you all here! Much love Monday!
@blkmetal @Vertebrata @middleman @ChronicMcBudz @TestOfOath @MantisTobogganMD @Stevie1durr @4ftfarmer (love the sig, grow 4th! lol) @bassman5420 @SonsOfAvery @NorthNorthNugs
I love doing it, and I do it for the love of being able to share with everybody. Honestly, bodhi and his community has given me so much that it’s the least I can do to pay it forward. And thanks to @torontoke for convincing me that’s the right thing to do, oh those many years ago, and setting a fine example by doing so himself!
I asked bodhi in email about whether or not Matt Riot had it right that Green Curry OG = Diablo OG, and he said that was their best guess. Matt says they look, grow, smell and smoke the same. So if you look up Diablo OG, you should get a fair idea of what the Green Curry OG’s about.
@George I couldn’t agree more! I’m always surprised when people are in a rush to cull runts, especially when it’s likely that we (the growers) are the weakest link, not the plant. You’ll see that #8, the runt, may end up being the belle of the ball despite my missteps with her.
Glad to have you here! I usually have plenty of seeds to share even after the initial signups/drops, so please check the threads of anything I’ve made to see if I posted about more seeds being sent to @Sebring, then follow the instructions in those threads to get them from him. I just sent more Pura Vida F2 and Good Medicine F2/Dank Zappa F2 combo packs to him a couple months ago.
No doubt, man! I wonder what the significance of that toon is to the name of this strain? I’ve never asked…but maybe somebody should!
Glad to see you here, and thanks for the kind words. Definitely some sawmill serrations in there. There was one big stretcher in the group, #9 the one with the best roots. She for some reason didn’t understand topping. lol!
Who’s counting? I try to add as much provenance info as possible up front to avoid the confusion and second guessing later. Yeah, germ was tough but I’m happy to say that the F2 gen aren’t having the same helmet head issues. @Vagabond_Windy had 100% germ while testing the F2 and they all shed their shells.
That’s it for now, but I’ll be back with more pics soon!
~nube
Glad to be here! Love what you are trying to do and I can see many great things coming from it in the future.
Anyone that misses out on the sign-up please remember that a lot of the folks that are getting them will be trading them in addition to growing them.
One of my favourite parts of getting in on a run is giving 1/2 of what I got away to another OGer in need. Bonus is i get to see what they do with them and learn from their experience too! Nowadays I will usually only keep 6-8 beans of a strain now UNLESS I have big plans.
Love to hear more about your grow style @nube it seems like you’ve got your shit really dialed and I’m always keen to learn from folks that know what they’re doing
