Hi y’all,
We’re getting pretty close here, a couple more weeks to go, have a good one !
Looking great! What’s the smell like, actually blueberry-ish? I’ve always wanted to try something that actually smelled/tasted like that, but haven’t run across it yet.
Autos are super nice, mine are several weeks behind yours but it’s neat to see flowers so early in the season, the photos are just getting their legs and putting up fast growth.
Beautiful little garden you have there! The plants look great! I love the stealth forest grow. Almost looks like you could just plant without using any ferts, beautiful spot.
@FieldEffect , thanks , no I haven’t smelled them up close. I wrote blueberry but the strain is actually BlackBerry Gum.
@Kabuddha thanks, almost ready
Fun thread!!! Dude your stories are fabulous! I always wanted to guerilla grow when I was younger. Now I’m old I been doing small ones here and there, most never make it to harvest due to animals. Those are vigorous autos! Mine are at 5 weeks and are barely a foot tall if that(third of a meter?) and just started preflowers. You got an awesome spot there hoss and your plants look amazing!! You got a gift there, and your dog is still with you every minute all around you.
Looks great my friend
@Dalorean, Thanks buddy! Oh yeah guerilla is awesome but is very intense and time consuming with no guaranteed outcome. But it got easier in the last years, because I only grew on remote swamps or near streams or lakes, where plants self watered. I might right up a little summary of my decade and a half growing out there. I mainly stopped due to family and fear of the law, not age. I had a friend he was 60 (“Oldpork”) and grew guerilla big time. OD gets huge plants and possibly huge harvests but I’m really glad to have this little grow, no big talents haha, the main thing with autos I found is get them out of the solo cups and in final spot after 10 days max, so they can grow fast in their short veg time. I only watered plain water, no liquid ferts or teas (got lazy), I did add ferts before and the soil is very airy (peat moss, perlite) where they are. The spot I got is secluded and great but missing sun, (7-8 vs 14 full day). But it’s really cool and I’m psyched!
@FieldEffect I smelled and touched them, they’re greasy and smell potent can’t really distingush a smell. I like blueberry cause usually a mellow day time smoke, and they were the cheapest. Good for garden grow cause don’t smell the yard. Some bud phenos are tight (AAA), others less (small leaves on buds) , others are spindly, but it’s cool, real happy. Harvest around corner as some are “fox tailing”
@Papalag, Howdy Paps, thanks for stopping by. Take it easy my friend!
@Dalorean, i forget yeah theyre vigorous. About the strain, most of the buds are solid but maybe 1/4 are either spindly, I’ll show pics, or a bit leafy . About 3/4 are tighter buds so it’s all good. All females. Cheap Well see how it smokes. .
About guerilla, it was a life style time consuming
but also a fun thing to do, walking the dog, hiking, . (And growing pot )I would spend hundreds of hours driving, looking per season. Then with better spots I re used them so it was less. I was over kill to find spots. It’s time consuming but I had great fun in the woods.
Thanks about my good friend my dog, time helps and I am beginning to accept it. Have a good one buddy
Harvest time!
I cut off the main colasand left the popcorn buds. It’s been about 10 weeks from seed, the site said 9 weeks, and forecast says possible heavy rain so chop chop!
Most buds are of a good structure, just got one airy one (maybe it’s potent?) and the rest were round full buds. They are sticky. Smell kinda fuelly and acrid. Well see in the smoke report how it is. I’ll post total weight later. The pic with buds on floor is of main colas, others hanging (total is more). Gotta go to “trim jail”!
Hello OGers,
It’s a pleasure to say that all the ganja is harvested and curing in jars. I got about 8 ozees, 240 grams! It feels good to be restocked for the Summer. I’ve been vaping the buds for 2-3 weeks about so I can do a quick report.
Overall it’s rather a couch lock type indica with a nice kick. Depending on phenos the strength goes from 8/10 to 9/10.
For the taste, phenos range from diesel/hashy/ taste to floral taste (durban poison). Didn’t really get any blueberry but I’m no good at tastes.
The aspect of the dried buds are solid (not fluffy) but not rock hard, going from solid to more chewy phenos (resin). If you’re looking for some quick strong weed with a good bud structure, these are great.
For the grow, probably next time I’ll grow less cause they were crowded. It adds up to 3 grams per plant lol (80 plants about) so I think less woul’ve been more (side and lower branches were rather small, in the shade probably).
The pics of the plants growing you see were some plants I let ripen (12 weeks) and chopped 5 days ago (still drying, will vape later). The site says 8-9 weeks and I took mine at 10. They could’ve swelled a bit more at 10-12 but hey, 250 grams lying in my yard, I’m taking it! It’s dank and potent!
Have a good one guys,
take careKurtz
This was a lot of fun to watch, totally different than most of what you see, but obviously successful! Really cool, thanks for showing it!
@Kurtz I just read you whole journal in a sitting. It was really great to see things progress from tiny seedlings all the way through harvest!
Of your 80 plants, how many survived all the way to harvest?
I think you may be able to yield more next time by planting fewer plants and giving each one a bit more space!
Amending the soil in your spot to add more nutrients may help too.
If the spot is going to sit fallow/unplanted for a while then now would be a good time to add some (cheap) steer manure, as it will have time to break down, and integrate into the soil some before your next crop. Then maybe top dress one time when they start to stretch/bud. Maybe with some bone meal, (or 0-X-0 bat guano) and Laingbenite or seaweed/kelp.
Again, great job and nice harvest,
