Way too easy
If ya have salty, ya gots to.have sweet.
In this day and age I’m going to have to require
The dude in the Pic to hold some popcorn
To prove he’s real like I do all my online
Ladies Bwahahaha.
Why is a bad attempt at marketing so villified? These people are incompetent, not evil
First, I do not believe anybody, AT ALL, asserted that these people were “evil”
They are however, misleading and dishonest
To call this out is not to call someone evil. Furthermore, people who call misleading and dishonest statements a bad attempt at marketing are being overly generous to a harmful degree.
When people lie and present themselves as something they are not, present themselves as experts and a reliable knowledgeable source (when they are neither reliable or knowledgable) this is not “marketing”.
It is blatant fraud.
In short, please stop trying to excuse the mistakes and misleading statements in this thread. This is addressed to everybody.
If you want to support the cannabis community, support people who put the honest work in as seed sellers and breeders. @JohnnyPotseed and @Great_lakes_Genetics are some amazing sponsors with high standards and transparency.
To support this Excuse of a ripoff of a sponsor is to insult the integrity and effort that real sponsors and breeders have put in. You guys should treat the community better than this than just encourage anybody, especially when they are being blatantly dishonest and misleading.
Furthermore,
People can recover and learn from their mistakes.
To point out their mistakes or wrongdoing is not mean or cruel. It is so the behaviour can be addressed.
Everybody has an opportunity to learn and improve from this.
They are here because they paid for a seat at the table. Because we can’t support ourselves. Plenty of server support auctions and Patroen memberships available to help keep the lights on and this platform running. Lack of sponsorship is what brought them here. Where will we land in the history of forums? Will we just give mealy answers about sponsors or will we take our future in our Own hands, and make this place what we seek.
I got nothing wrong with cheap seeds, they seems like they wanna get back on track. Some difficult messaging/the wolves come out quick! yall was like if a kid was gonna get ripped off at the comic book store, love the instinct and protectiveness of the community.
Message from beedersteve on the forum at starsandstripesseed.com;
Thanks again for joining us! There’s been a lot of conjecture, and even heated debate, on various online channels about what we are doing here. I figured that I should share my thoughts on the matter and give you all some insight. Make of it what you will.
When I took a break twenty years ago from the seed business, and the cannabis industry in general, it wasn’t because I was tired of cannabis. I always planned to come back when the overall climate was more favorable towards it. I was also tired of all of the knockoff bois and dealing with the distributors who felt entitled to carry both originals and the knockoffs. I knew that I’d want a home base for my upcoming new releases. Additionally, I wanted to post my content of the process on my own platform, preferably one that was less likely to censor me… a place for grown ups to engage in civil discussions and to be able to silence the anon trolls which can be such an energy drain. Constructive criticism always welcome. We are all here to engage, share, and learn.
I wanted a place that could play host to as many breeders as would like to be a part of a well-oiled, equal opportunity marketplace, on a transparent consignment basis. A place for original work, not knockoffs by the lowlifes. I wanted to be able to park seeds here myself, and have a real time account dashboard and monthly payouts. Each of us breeders has our own help desks to focus on our customers.
As I didn’t want to run this division on a day-to-day basis, I needed a partner with the managerial mindset/skillset, and I was lucky to find two partners/friends keen to make it happen. One, Tariq, runs this site and all of the company logistics. The other one is more of a wandering mystic, and he’s been travelling and sourcing bulk regional commodity beans to fulfill another of our objectives. In the spirit of Overgrowing the land, I wanted to sell seed where no one has sold seed before, and to people who weren’t even thinking about growing cannabis. These had to be under $10 per pack, and available throughout the USA as impulse buys at a wide range of retail point of sales. To this end we created two new brands, but using the same photos and descriptions of the first release to make it obvious that the seed was the same generic Kush. The Seeds of Anarchy packs might be found in skate shops, tattoo parlors, barber shops, bowling alleys, gas stations, mechanics shops, hipster cafes, etc. La Sagrada Semilla could be in garden centers, yoga studios, hair salons, dollar stores, grocery stores, dental offices, anywhere. This is not a job for a website alone, but for an army of feet on the street sales force. We’re not making high quality cannabis claims for these seeds, we’d rather under promise and over deliver. We’re not telling anyone to risk an expensive indoor run on them. They are essentially novelties that may or may not be legal to plant in a particular state, but if someone was even slightly curious, they could dip their toes into the cannabis gene pool for under $10. They might buy them as gag gifts for co-workers, friends, or family members. That said some serious growers have already ordered some to check them out. There are lots of seed banks selling collected heirloom seeds from this region, and others, and nobody bats an eye. Offering them for under $10/pack definitely ruffled some feathers! I triggered a gaggle of Canna Karens, which cracks me up. Why anyone would care is beyond me. If you don’t want to grow any pure AfPak Kush seeds from our collection, don’t. It’s that simple. While the heirloom collection started with these Kush seeds, we’re adding some West African lines, Moroccan Beldia, and Bekaa Valley Lebanese. For the 2025 planting season our point of sale racks will have some more variety.
Launching a new business and coordinating a new team is seldom without its headaches. Murphy’s Law is for real. Mistakes are made, and dealt with to the best of our ability. Dwelling on them is not only counterproductive, it’s tedious. To those of you who show understanding, thank you, and respect. To those who are hung up on negativity, that’s between you and your mental health professional.
Peace and Plenty, my friends.
Onwards and upwards!
What’s fishy about a partner of a seed company under attack opening an OG account? This allows me to speak for myself, instead of making company statements. I had to write to take responsibility for my honest mistake, and, above all, to absolve the trail blazing #breedersteve—who has done nothing but serve this industry for decades, while getting ripped off by knock off boys selling his #shishkaberry and #sweettooth strains.
The animosity, disdain, and skepticism of your post makes me wonder if you are one of those. Or perhaps your policy is to trash all new entrants in order to make room for your own products?
Anybody who wants to do a background check on me can search for Dr Amir Ali Farman-Farma, Founder, Connexion Capital LLP, London on LI and other platforms. We have been an investing in public and private cannabis companies since 2018 and are known to the founders of some of the largest public companies, such as Canopy Growth and Harvest Health & Recreation (HRVSF) which have funded in the past.
If I’m a bot, then I’ve got to be one of the most articulate, scruffiest and itinerant: Have you seen a long-haired, bearded bot standing above the #DurandLine on #KhyberPass before?

So I asked a member of the Afridi tribe I knew and trusted to supply pictures of the cannabis being grown and processed there. He supplied cool pictures of grow fields and hash making videos. Later he sent the picture that turned out to be someone else’s. I had asked him many times to only send pictures he or a trusted source had taken. Nevertheless, he included this picture. I don’t think those guys didn’t appreciate the importance of trust and authenticity in our market.
As I mentioned earlier, it was not our work. We relied on a supplier to provide an image about the history of the Tirah Valley that turned out not to be bonafide. So we removed it immediately and have terminated our relationship with the supplier.
To this end we created two new brands, but using the same photos and descriptions of the first release to make it obvious that the seed was the same generic Kush.
This allows me to speak for myself
Speak for yourself then, your last post was a copy and paste from “Steve”
The animosity, disdain, and skepticism of your post makes me wonder if you are one of those
We have had a lot of trash come through our community that shown us the same sort of red flags you guys have. Lots of members have been ripped off big dollars because of them. You don’t get to show up here looking like a rip off scam company and demand trust.
Don’t you dare blame me or other members for this!
You guys showed up here with a half assed site that shouldn’t be public until you figure out what honesty is!
perhaps your policy is to trash all new entrants in order to make room for your own products?
How dare you! I would welcome ANYONE that isn’t a liar!
Make room for my own products? LMAO, I posted where to buy mine because it doesn’t make sense to be a sponsor without it, anything I have gets traded or given away on this platform! We are a community here at OG bud so you better get your facts straight!
Oh and my pictures are mine and I’m honest about what’s used, you should try it sometime, it feels good!
The animosity, disdain, and skepticism of your post makes me wonder if you are one of those. Or perhaps your policy is to trash all new entrants in order to make room for your own products?
This is a ridiculous statement and pretty offensive. You rolled in here with, by your own words, gas station bulk seeds, stolen images and multiple brand new accounts all posting but all refusing to answer simple questions. Now you want us to be impressed and praise you for all your great work? You think the answer to this situation is to attack people who come to you with valid questions and concerns about your obviously shady behaviour? You haven’t earned any trust as of yet and to walk in the way you did and expect it is just crazy.
Dr Amir Ali Farman-Farma
I don’t think most people here are going to be big on a hedge fund guy selling seeds in a gas station, but I could be wrong.
Gimme $20 regular unleaded, a snickers bar, a monster energy, and some seeds.
earned any trust as of yet
Yes agreed. They came rolling in hard. A little humility goes a long way. Not that I have any.
Anyway I’m going to chalk it up to poor reading of the audience.
So many new internet growers, myself included, end up with expensive feminised autoflowers to start. They fit in a tent, promise modern flavor, and when looking at total startup cost even $30/seed seems reasonable to absorb.
Love this piece of the market as it’s exactly the opposite. Masterclass in how NOT to introduce a brand to a nerd community, but the root idea is killer. Hope this one continues to clean up and am excited for the day when one can buy bulk afg/pak seeds at home depot.
WOW so many haters, makes me want to run some of their beans even more so now.
I do not see how, paid up advertisers, are the bad guys here…
Over Grow is now a commercial site, I’m fine with that, change is universal.
We did not stop the give away threads after after getting poached by HugeGlass and those types, that robbed this sites members!
Why such harsh mid numbing comments I’ve been reading, to a paid up entity, on a commercial site?

That’s your insta??
Pretty impressive when a Cum Laude graduate from Harvard takes time out of his day to make an account on OG to lend credence to his new venture. (Or it’s steve)
Anyway, first glance at your insta shows some negativity toward your view of americans. Yet here, your venture is named Stars and Stripes Seeds. What was your rationale for picking that name? I think you are being smug with that choice myself.
The beans in question from starsandstripes insta…watch till the end.

On that starsandstripes insta there seems to be plenty of pictures and information going back. Looks like info that folks were asking for. Why not present that.

That’s who you are claiming to be? I am doubtful to be honest.
In your first post you claim to be the “seed hunting partner”…Ah, ok, that’s believable I guess…not.
You should take up some of the guys who offered to grow your gear and stop trying to outsmart everybody here with bullshit posts. A Harvard Cum Laude graduate??? And these are your posts???
lol
this thread is kinda like watching a mass suicide…
If that ig is legit to the poster… i have a few choice words and gestures to share personally.
@PlantSpirit Thanks for that explanation. I’d be curious to know more about these collection trips, and the details of the genetics you are sourcing.
