Taste tests, just tons of info on the strains

We posted that image in good faith as it was sent from one of our suppliers to help us explain a a background of the Tirah Valley. However, now that we know they stole the photo from a third party source we’ve deleted that photo and will cease working with that supplier immediately. We would like to thank @zephyr for bringing this to our attention. We totally understand how bad this looks and we are extremely embarrassed.

@willie our seeds are aimed at those who’ve never grown before but are willing to throw some cannabis seeds in their garden along with their usual fair. They’re are priced according to what they are, for beginners and for outdoor grows only and with starter packs under $10. Our aim is to help expand the entry market and if they like what they see hopefully they lean more and seek something more tuned to their needs from the many specialist breeders.

Actually, I never asked you about any of that. I simply made an observation that the first guy was speaking like a politician. Kinda the same way you just posted to me and your “excuse” for using somebodies elses photo above.
You should just say that you have ZERO gear of your own and are hoping to make a buck pedaling beans that you know nothing about.
But instead of beating around the bush here it might be easier to just provide some answers.
Do you have seeds now?
What are they?
Who made them?
How do they grow?
…here’s where you’d submit pictures of what you have…the parents, the results, your current grow, etc. The first guy said he’s been growing 10 years…ok, show us some of that then. Show us something, anything at all. The truth is you came here woefully unprepared. And another truth here that is actually quite ironic is that the questions that have been put to you that have been deemed nasty are exactly the questions a good tester would ask. Don’t get upset, it’s you who was not prepared for your own thread. As for guy #1’s offer of “you get to keep what you grow as your reward for being a tester” that’s semi laughable here in 2024. 4 months, electricity, feed , etc for the pack of untested beans you grew is simply not very appealing.
And…I live in a democracy already, no need to “democratize” any beans for me. You sure do make an effort to sound “american” here…Are you?

Were you able to see that message at all? “In good faith” reads to me as “not checking our work”. What other corners can I expect you to cut. It’s a blow to your credibility to say the least. Also, who are you?

@willie yes you are right, the seeds we are selling are not bred by us, but that’s not the message we’re trying to get across. They’re novelty items from traditional regions. The current batches originate from local farms in Makur, Zazi, Andrab in Afghanistan and also Tirah Valley, Pakistan and are bred by local farmers principally for hash production. Do we have pictures of the grow outs? No. That’s why we’re calling for testers to grow them independently and post independent pictures of their grows. We wouldn’t ask any tester to spend their valuable indoor time and resources growing these seeds, that’s why we specify they’re for outdoors only. If someone chooses to plant them indoors then that’s their choice.
We are not on Overgrow to compete with the many very experienced growers and huge and diverse knowledge base. These seeds are not intended for the Overgrow market, but for the traditional garden and impulse purchase market. If we’re able to find anyone who’s interested in testing our seeds (outdoors) and posting the reports then that’s a great result for us. We’re also looking for any breeders interested in placing their seeds on our website,
Will we bring ‘our own’ cultivars to the market later? Yes. And we can give more background on those cultivars than the items we collect. We will do that once the grow outs are completed.

As I mentioned earlier, it was not our work. We relied on a supplier to provide an image about the history of the Tirah Valley that turned out not to be bonafide. So we removed it immediately and have terminated our relationship with the supplier.
Let’s grow them. I like the suspense.

Then why steal others images?
So you are praying off of people that don’t know any better?
You have 2 different breeders with 2 different strains that both have the same photo. So I’m calling B/S on that one.
And you have SOL listed on there, Steve is in the legal market working with LP’s. He’s making seeds and clones that are sterile. They actually released some not long ago.
He’s definitely not selling regular seeds on this shady site.

Hi All,
I am the seed hunting partner of Stars and Stripes Seed Company.
I am largely responsible for the stolen picture posted on our site.
When I was in Pakistan’s #NorthwestFrontier in December, I traveled to Khyber and other grow regions, but my trip to Tirah Valley was cancelled due to security concerns. [I was told that foreigners are kidnapped there and that I couldn’t travel without an army ‘No Objection’ certificate.]
So I asked a member of the Afridi tribe I knew and trusted to supply pictures of the cannabis being grown and processed there. He supplied cool pictures of grow fields and hash making videos. Later he sent the picture that turned out to be someone else’s. I had asked him many times to only send pictures he or a trusted source had taken. Nevertheless, he included this picture. I don’t think those guys didn’t appreciate the importance of trust and authenticity in our market.
I’m very sorry that happened, and shall do my best to ensure that we don’t repeat the blunder.

Can someone do a background check on these guys.
This has been the third account made over a couple days regarding this seed bank. A bunch questioned the first account, the second account made things shady and now this third account.
I’m not sure what’s going on here but I think overgrow should stay far away.
