Clicking on The Hulk there takes you to its page and can see it’s lineage and do the same thing.
Just limited to only being able to see 5 levels deep on any line at a time…

Interesting, I’m not able to click on any of the strain names in the plugin on mobile but glad it works on desktop. Still a clumsy view now and this is embarrassing:

It’s all the same information, and the “tree” format for the lineage is nice, but I think the orientation is a problem. It would look a hell of a lot better if the branches extended vertically, rather than having both the names and the branches taking up horizontal space; that would make it much easier to visualize the whole thing without everything shrinking to invisibility from the zoom level.

Like some people said it’s a big change after using the site for like 15 years and will take some getting used to but I honestly like it. It looks less outdated IMO. At first I wasn’t a fan of the lineages but after looking at them for awhile I don’t mind. I actually like that the different levels are separated by different colours. Change can suck but is necessary sometimes to grow.
I’d like to see the option to change the strain lineages to vertical instead of horizontal if possible/to be able to see the entire tree. Other than that I personally like the new site.

I recently retired from an IT career and the kind of work facing the new owner(s) and the developer(s) is typically very difficult. A software/website acquisition seems straight forward in the beginning, but even with a good project plan there’s always ‘unplanned work’ that shows up regularly from start to finish. This includes post release period.
I was impressed at how they reached out here and asked for our feedback.

well, it was a code rewrite, that means the old code was thrown (for several reasons) to trash.
rewriting the old is sometimes less easy depending on the code quality you got after a rewrite. More I don’t like to write at the moment for the moment.

form my POV, I would like to get the old lineage tree layout first before opening another bug wave which can happen depending on several circumstances. I made a screenshot of your comment and put it to “future list” .
however I found the vertical tree with a lot of parents (without skipping) more worse .

That lineage tree was the only reason I went to the site. Haven’t been back since it changed. Unless I see the old lineage tree comes back and that it’s a similar site, I’ll never go back. Thanks to whoever created and maintained it before new owners took over. It was nice while it lasted. These kook companies buy up and ruin most things.

Looks like it’s fixed! I can see all of the hybrids and lineage and everything is interactive.
