Sept 2023, Landrace / Heirloom Challenge

Its a mixed-tent @George, so in reality I don’t want a Male anywhere near there this go-round.

More a genuine curiosity if a Males cycle is as Long as a Females… Pollen Collection, in a separate location, would be the only real goal (or sprinkling a lower branch… remotely)

Thanks again @george, your trio looks pretty darn Happy!

The angle of the lower branches on the Bhadra are impressive. Those want to be big plants!

They do look like they are bracing themselves, don’t they.
Thanks for that Observation @lefthandseeds, much appreciated.
Fumbling through Pixels and Trichomes. Found a Gold Mine on @SativaKid’s Thai #1. Looks like the Purple pheno has a bit of a handle on this version as well.
I am going back to get some proper shots of those Trichomes!!

Yeah usually when I look at young plants and see the lower branches coming out nearly flat, I get my training face on 🫣

That means they want to have a wiiiiiide canopy and usually comes with a lot of stretch too.

Those are the parents of your Oaxacan, that male with such thin blades is worth to preserve :kissing_heart:, great pollen to try some crosses … beer3|nullxnull

Already a proud owner @George, and I’m thinking hard about it…

I mentioned earlier that the Sex junk has been exposed on some of these creatures and Yep, I have grabbed some shots.
Oaxacan A is guaranteed to be a Male, with others included. A few I’m Unsure of some, but the Bumps have arrived and it won’t take long for them to develop.
Of course I’m looking for that perfect little tear-drop with the single hair sticking out, not a bunch of You know whats :soccer: :football: :baseball: :volleyball: :rugby_football: :tennis: :ping_pong:

Here goes with Bhadra, One known Male, the rest are tba (looks like a few more below)

Alright… transition to Flower.
48 hrs of dark, at the end of 3 weeks of Veg.
And when the lite came on, all new growth ie: bud sites, have a Yellow colour to it. The plants look strong and healthy but have this issue.
The plants were fed a planned meal, 1 hour after lites on. Bloom microbes, enzymes and molasses.
Here is how it looked at Lites-on

Bhadra grew 4” in the 48hrs. Plants have been moved to the floor and height balanced. Here we go.
If anybody can help me with the Yellow Bursts on each of the Flowers, it would be really appreciated. Looks like a single issue, so I’m not too worried about turning it around. But I need to take action. My poster does not include this yellow-sunburst Malady

It’s because of the no light for 48hrs. They will green up by the end of the day when given light again.

24 hrs Bro. Ohmmmm
Mucho Gracias for keeping me calm during the yellow star-bursts. Managing to keep the btm 30” busy. Soooo glad this tent has some head-room @ 80”

This, and fresh Loaded Soil, will be next for the tall ones. Started with a doodle…

No problem brother.

Sadly the only reason I knew they would green up is because I messed up.

Before I went to the Michigan cup, I was messing around with my timers or something and I accidentally flipped the switch on the power strip for my lights. Went like 30 hours of straight no lights.

Got back home and my plants looked just like yours. Got the light back on and they went back to normal rather quickly.

I never heard of anyone doing 48 hrs constant darkness before 12/12. Where did you learn that? Does it make them show sex earlier?

Nice!

Looks like they are returning to normal. I’m also curious about the 2 days of dark helping for sexing.

Excited for the next couple months in that tent :sunglasses:

I guess its more of an abrupt introduction @Uprangewilly.

In the past I have incrementally lowered the Light cycle, and “slid” plants into Flower… tried a few methods

This I guess, is more of Fight or Flight approach. 48hrs of dark at Flip, had been one of the Rules back-when I was introduced to grow your own… it was said to help display or trigger the sex-show quicker.

The Heirlooms, I felt could handle it…

May I ask how you bring the kidz into bloom?

Interesting. I never heard that before. Very cool. I have heard of people doing 48hrs right before harvest, but not before flowering.

I go from 18/6 to 12/12.

Are you doing 12/12 regular flower interval or try the 10/14 or 11/13 recommended for these sort of equatorial varieties?

We’ll watch, I’ve probably delayed mine @Uprangewilly ha. Were gonna find out shortly. I wish all the females showed as Simply as this CloudWalker did last year.
