Sept 2023, Landrace / Heirloom Challenge

Yeah, WPM is a nasty organism @MissinBissin . Very hard to deal with, especially when you have live plants in your space. I battled for a good half year before throwing in the towel and doing a hard reset.

Sorry to hear of that it went On that Long, I’m learning a lot about IT this grow @Budderton
Tenacity etc, yeah, WPM its not a quitter.

With the results from the UV-c bulb on the first 30-minute application, I have little doubt that we’ll succeed in knocking it back again; it’s just becoming a Pain that it continues to visit with the clock running down.

This close to the end, wpm is the first real struggle “throughout” a grow, we’ve got it. (w/ crossed fingers)

And I tested the bulb in rugged conditions and on infected flowering plants and know it works for surface eradication, all surfaces in the grow space as ozone is the second best killer of wpm after Sulfur. And Sulfur in Veg is the best as I learned from the @JoeCrowe . And my experience with Sulfur has been great.

Definitely. Nuke that shit with elemental sulfur in veg twice. It’ll scuttle back to hell.

Last nite (14th) the UV-c bulb was Ran once again for 30-minutes.

Tonight will see me trimming the Squirrel Tail leaves of the wpm afflicted nugs. Zero doubt its done its part.

Bhadra is not impacted by the wpm

2 in front are the Russian Tzar Bomba’s

I’m curious to see if the UV-C treatment is going to work without deleterious effects to the plants themselves. Seems to be doing alright. Bhadra is looking great!

Seedlings also looking :+1: :+1:

Thanks @FieldEffect
Pics tonight will show Whats-Left of the wpm, as it sits. Active or otherwise.

I saw no damage with the initial application, tent kind of felt relieved actually. And here we are 4 weeks later.

This method, is almost like a Topical treatment. Because its indoors, I can only run it so long safely, for me.

I will simply put the next application not so far away this time. Say 2 weeks, I’ll club whats left.

If the problem is imminent, you can use the Ozone generator at night, which is when the plants consume more oxygen. I have done it without problems in the plants, the frequency of the ozone generator was: 10 minutes every 2 hours.
Ozone is made up of 3 oxygen molecules.

Thanks for that idea @defharo, I’ve a friend who has volunteered his “smallish” O3 generator.

He brought it over as an Odour-aid, which was Not Needed. I’m sure it will have a Lesser impact than the gas generating bulb. Right now I’m set on running the bulb in 14 days once again, we’ll see where that gets us.

Thanks for the suggestion my Friend

Here is the Squirrel Tail seedling that was salvaged from the Dozen that have germinated, in the Mother-plants Substrate.

2 days into week 3 of Veg

The Oaxacan @George plant produced a handful of seeds before I pulled the plug, she Did Not handle the dry spell well at all.
I did a test with the seeds this past Sunday and today we are 5 for 5. Lookout. Failed the way that this plant did, I’m totally growing her, (potential 14-18 weeker) in the Fall of 2024, again

The yoyo’s are holding up quite a bit of weight. Branches slump on the Squirrel Tail now when she is untied

Her Buds are complicated places

Back in the tent after an Inspection and Defoliating session

Here is an example of Buds that were clipped-off because of WPM. All victims were Low on the plant

S.T. with Bhadra below. I’m Bumping-up their soil amendment to tomorrow, from next week.

  • yesterday (17th) i said I was bumping-up the coming amendment, because I thought I saw a Pause in the plants responses.

Last nite (17th) when I opened the tent, there has definitely been a shift in the Bhadra’s Foliage.
Almost overnite, its like a Fade is running through the Fans.

The Soil Was amended immediately, and it was Washed down with 3.5L of Worm Castings, Kelp Meal and Molasses tea. Still trying to stay ahead

I’ve grown few years ago the highland oaxacan from the 70’s seed stock indoors kept flowering even after the 4th month :joy: it’s a real challenge that baby needs some strong sunlight with lots of UV

Thanks for the recommendation @ALB3RT, you are right on target.

With @defharo’s words in my ear still, I’ve never had more illumination dropping down onto some plants.
Its week 17 in flower now, Bhadra is still reaching, and its just eating-up the Lite output.

Leaf temp is not excessive, ppdf is 1100+

How does He say it…
“ILLUMINATE WITHOUT MERCY” (i love it d)

Have a great day ALB3RT

I Appreciate the prompt to keep the foot on the gas :foot:
*** when the autos move into the 4’ tent next week, their ts-1000 becomes a side-panel for the Bhadra

Tzar Bomba has a new 3-gallon Mattress and she likes it. Great to see her smile like this, now that its the next morning!

This Grow bag was easily slit after the plant was watered, making it an effortless transplant.

I also made an attempt to use ProMix’s “CONNECT” Mycorrhizal Innoculant paste, as a final intrusion between the 2 and 3 gallon grow bags.
While feeling ready, even extra hands in-place, it was Truly an awkward procedure, with the paste not really bonding to the Grow-bag shaped dirt-ball I was holding.

In the end I placed RTB in the 3 gal bag and poured the paste down the sides.

It was the Only way I could guarantee contact… I will try it again tonight with the other 2.

Thanks again Pro-Mix, I really Appreciate the chance to Connect !

(change: Zam gets it, RTB2 does not… then we can see if there is a difference tween RTB 1 with Connect, & 2 without Connect !!)

Abstract, Slash-mutant Auto Zamaldelica, has 4 branches at Node 1.

I accept

This morning I’m seeing a staggered offset for this first set of shoots on one of these Quad-branches
This seems strange to me so early in the progression… I thought it was the Main Branch that developed staggered Nodes when she was Sexually mature

Was not knowingly aware, that side-branches became staggered. Let alone the first activity on the shoot, is staggered
(ps of course i did not look at the others, yet, but I will) ** these quad branches are 4/4 with staggered activity at the first junction **

The most mutant one like that I’ve seen had 6 branches at the node. Wild shit!
