Anytime that happens to me, I plant it with the Seed pointing up (the direction it needs to go) just make a wider hole in order to cover up the whole tail.
Yeah. It will usually shed the shell, leaving it in the dirt, and emerge open and ready to grow. Or it will pop out with the shell and then shed it off.
I guess the big concern is how fast it turned and how big it grew. If I put it in seed up I will have to bury it deeper as the tap root is pretty long. I suppose it will head back down when it hit’s the light. Just hate to mess up a seed with such vigorous growth.
I agree, I don’t want to mess with it. You can even see all the hairs coming off of it. Seems very healthy, just growing the wrong way. I think I will just drop it in coco and let it work itself out.
I burry tap root down where the seed is just near the surface of the soil, so it doesn’t struggle too much… Once shell comes off, I’ll add a bit more soil around the top.
Plus + 1
Lately the beans I’ve popped have been wearing their shells as hula skirts. I’ll have to take a pic. There’s at least 3. 🤷
Lmaooo @Rhino_buddy you too??! Haha, I had some do the same thing. I wish I took photos of the seeds I popped recently. They were doin all kinds of weird stuff Here’s one that did a corkscrew
Ok well every seed that cracked is now in a solo cup with coco and perlite where I can’t mess with them. Two Grape Punch did not crack so they are still in Paper towel for now. Nature is better at this stuff than I so I thought this might be the way to go. Nothing promotes LITFA like not being able to get to it.
So true. I have a lock on one of my cabs and one time lost the keys for a few days lmaoooo
Good moves Doug, I get shit covered with dirt as fast as I can for the same reason, if I can see it directly or get to it easy I’ll fuck with it and probably fuck it up. Leave it in nature’s hands
Well we got no seeds popping out yet but here’s hoping we see at least or or two today. Would sure make me feel better, lol
tap root always goes down
I get that’s the rule, hopefully this thing corrects itself as now the seed is pointing the wrong way. Will know soon enough
I’ve fumbled a few going in the hole and had them land upside down. They’ve all figured it out and corrected.
They’ll be good. Only thing I do is poke a deeper hole with pinky or make a small trench sideways and lay it down sideways with seed shell in middle of cup.
Well home from work for dinner before going to vote. We have some positive signs. 2 have broken the surface and that one remaining Sour Bubble from the original batch is still hanging in there. Poor little thing has some fight in it. Things are starting to shape up nicely. Hopefully we shall see the others pop out soon.
Looking promising hope they all keep growing for ya.
Awesome news DD
Thanks @ShiskaberrySavior and @Stevie1durr . They are looking much more promising than the last batch. Fingers crossed. Just need one male and 1 female really, even if I can get that I got a cloneable plant and pollen. This is going to happen
Way to go Doug!! They’re coming along!
