Specializing in hot peppers

Thanks for the reply. Yes they are outdoors (started indoors and moved maybe 4weeks ago outside). I am on a second floor apartment so a hose is a no go. But I love the idea of dunking them. They are maybe 12" or so tall, so think I’ll get a 5 gallon bucket and put a solution in it and dunk them. They are appearing on both the top and bottom sides of the leaves. I’ve sprayed both sides. But the dunk seems ultimate!
Thank you!

Yeah, it works pretty well. Just dip em, swirl the plant gently for like, 10 or 15 seconds, then pull it. You can sprinkle a bit of diatomaceous earth on the soil surface too, just as insurance.

For getting every nook and cranny, this thing is the ticket!

I get aphids on some of the garden plants, since they are large and soft, they tend to respond well to potassium soap (potassium fatty acids.) I make my own with KOH and soy oil, but it is very cheap to buy as well. It will drown them and wash them off the plant, and your plant will probably brighten up after you spray the whole thing down.

@RadioWaves — Guam is legal now :sunglasses:

I didn’t start any pepper plants this year but my neighbor gave me one that he started from the Hawaiian ghost seeds I gave… looked like shit  so I eventually chucked it in the worm bin.

How are folks doing with the stuff I went out? You’re all my testers :joy: and am looking forward to seeing what happens

They’re looking sexy and squat, I’ll grab some pics in the morning. Good germination too :+1:

I figured it was just his local soil mix: typically over 50% red cinders (lava) & dirt. My suspicion is very low calcium— the leaves were the wrinkliest I’ve seen.

It’s in the outdoor garden! Grew them up inside in solo’s and now they’re doing their thing, slowly… time to go check haha!

Sounds like your buddy could use some gypsum or something. Lava rock isnt too bad as a part of soil, but its definitely Ca deficient. Critical for fruit bearers

Beautiful plants. And check those roots! They were in a layer of seed starting soil, maybe 3/4 inch deep when we cut them out. Meaning that all of the root growth you can see here running to the bottom of the cup is from 1 week!

Mine are small but alive. I will put up pics at some point. It has been cold as hell, so hopefully July will be their month.

I’ve got some chocolate habanero growing if anyone would like seeds. Fruit color is closer to purple, at least to my eyes.

Has anybody ever grown the mattapeno peppers?

It is a variegated jalapeño pepper.

Yeah. they look pretty fun to try. So I thought I would see if anybody has tried them yet. From what I understand it’s just a variegated jalapeño pepper. Thought might switch it up from the normal jalapeños.
