Specializing in hot peppers

They really do taste incredible. I think they’re some of the best spicy peppers I’ve ever tasted. Mine are pretty spicy but nowhere near 100k. I’d put them closer to 10-20k, which I’m happy with.

Looks like I’ll be venturing into the chilli pepper world! I recieved some chilli pepper seed from my friend TL over in Thailand and I’m looking forward to growing some out this summer.

That could be. I’ve found gypsum cures a lot of peppers ills. I grew ajis for a few years, and saved the seeds. They eventually all ended up with deep purple/black fruits and didn’t have that nice citrus flavor

One of my kids makes a fermented sauce with them and fataliis. Tames the heat and tastes delicious :yum:

I don’t think my Anaheim peppers qualify as hot but I’ve been wanting to attempt growing and smoking some for several years now. My initial thought was to grow some along with the pot in my indoor growing room and I’d probably have been okay if I had only done 2. Now I have 8 that I’d like to put outdoors in a couple weeks(in Missouri) but I’m new to this side of growing and don’t have the ability to till up a small area for them unfortunately.

5 gal buckets with holes drilled in the bottom per plant = Success :raised_hands: @JerBear

@lefthandseeds are you using fans or hands to pollenate your peppers indoors ?

10k-20k sounds about right for mine as well. They were no where near any of my thai hots or habaneros.

I bought them as 2 year old plants, gave them both a nice spot in the garden and it was
4 more years before I saw any fruit. Up until then they would do the same thing. Flower, but no fruit. Finally four years after putting them in the garden, they finally produced. That would make them 6 years old at that point. I was wondering if they were ever going to produce.

I left one… and i have tree they should be able to pollinate each other. Sorry for for going off topic.

I just grab the plant and give it a shake.

I do have a fan in there but I keep it pretty low and it doesn’t even hit all the plants. Not sure I really need it, but it’s there.

Here’s some pretty cool seeds I just got. I’m gonna try a few of these and some Fushimis to see if any like my grow tent like the shishitos and sugar rush peach. :crossed_fingers:

I have been collecting pepper seeds and growing them for years. One of my favorite is the Jamaican hot chocolate habanero. It’s the best tasting chocolate hab, and way better than the regular chocolate hab(there are more than 1 type). It’s unique with a smoky flavor. I make a sauce with it and home grown mangos.
I no longer grow the superhots. I just don’t need it this hot like I used to like. My favorite superhot is the chocolate brainstrain pepper. That thing is hotter and more painful than any reaper, and has an incredible flavor. The first time I tried it, I instantly regretted it. It did however give me a great endorphin buzz.
My most interesting pepper is the date pepper. It looks just like brown dates, and even has a similar taste.

My Anaheim peppers are budding already and I don’t know if this is good or bad…

If you think it’s too early, you can pick them off.

Getting some plants poking threw the surface. Clearly some are more hasty to start. The jalapeno and serrano being the first, with cayenne and big Jim soon after.
