Splotchy leaf coloration

Hey OGers,
This is my second grow… currently at day 24 since dropping the seeds.

I’m concerned by the coloration of the leaves. They’re very splotchy with varying shades of green.

Both of these Bad Girls (Twenty20 genetics) are in Octopots
Currently they are on Week 1 veg nutrients (Athena Blended) at pH 6.2 and 940ppm.
Light distance is at 12" with 490 PPFD.
VPD stable at 0.8 kPa.

Should I make any adjustments at this point because of this coloration?
Thanks!

They look pretty healthy to me, but if you’re talking about that little bit of light green between the veins? My guess would be they may want some more Mag. I would wait until others chime in first tho my friend. These little plants are pretty tough and determined to live so everything will be ok just give her some more time and soak up the incoming opinions and info. Folks may want more info including lights, power of lights how high ect. That look great to me in all their fat leafed glory.

Just read your info with power and lights.

Nice and clean set up !!
I was reading an article about The distance
between the light and the plant canopy they recommend if over 500 watts 24 inches up to 35 inches in veg ! We’ll try raising the light to 18 inches just for haha’s and see how they act I run a 500 watt light and they are much happier ! I actually raised it to 28 inches
In flower they are right at 12 inches below and no issues

I am very happy to see another octopot grower !:boom::smile::sunglasses::fire::fire::fire:

Welcome aboard I’ll tag along if you don’t mind

I would raise the light closer to 18 or 20 in

For those recommending to increase the light distance… do you also recommend to increase the light power to maintain the current PPFD (490)? Or should I keep the light at level 3, which will result in a lower PPFD?

My light doesn’t adjust so I need to raise the lights to adjust the lighting strength.

I do believe in full power :sunglasses:

Okay I raised the light (500W AC Infinity EVO6) to 18" and kept it at level 3. New PPFD reading is 435.

I’ll keep an eye out for any changes.

They look a bit sad if I may say, maybe being in hydro you could lower the pH, also nutes, they could be facing a nutrient lockout… entripao|nullxnull

I just noticed ppms a bit high at this stage

Try lowering the ppms
@George
Has a great ppm chart

Yes I thought the same about the ppms
pH 6.2 is too high?
I’m using Athena’s chart, but I’m sure nutrient companies want you to use more rather than less…
maybe I’ll add some RO to lower the ppms a bit

wondering if @supersecretjim goes full strength in W1 Veg

Peat is acidic, maybe that’s why they put it higher … icon_e_confused|nullxnull

I personally run ph 5.8 on most mediums

I agree with @George and @Papalag the PH does sound out of range for most of the nutrient’s to be absorbed. You can get all kinds of reaction as your outside of the PH range for most nutrients to be absorbed. I would think that 5.8 would be your ideal watering pH. But definitely consider your IPM. Have you done a thorough investigation? It’s either pH or pest most likely.

Is it all plants on that res or just that one

My low is 5.8 my high is 6.3 but I shoot 6.0

I’m using ProMix HP (peat) with added perlite… not sure if I should be treating this octopot system as peat-based or hydroponic as far as pH levels.

Iv been running autopot unsure if same but I set red 5.8 then it drifts up in the lines

It’s only the 2 plants pictured, and they share the reservoir. The bigger plant sprouted a couple days before the smaller.

I think roots goes down to the deposit and feed from there, so don’t think peat in your medium will influence, guess @Papalag is more expert on Octopots and will help you on this …
