Sick plant or light burn?

Currently using Ac infinity grow kit.
Soil - Pro Mix HP
PH - I keep it around 6.0- 6.3 last few weeks I’ve been doing 6.5
Gaia Green and mykros the only thing I used.

I’ve been messing around with the light settings from 10%-100%, I am using PPFD App to get close to the targeted range from 400-500.

From what I researched I gather it could be either excess magnesium or deficiency. I added less than half a tablespoon of Epsom salt to my water only when feeding.

I would like other people’s opinion on what is wrong with my plants, and excused the mess.

Looks like mag deficiency.

Mag can take up to 30 days to show deficiency so if you’re seeing visual signs that means it’s been in motion for a bit.
Make sure to also give calcium as they go hand in hand during cell production.
Foliar feeding will speed up the process.

Thank you! I’ll try out Cal mag then.

Toxicity imo…
Not enough light but too much nutes.
400-500 ppfd at this stage ? My seedlings get more than that…

I have a feeling his ppfd mentioned above isn’t accurate as it looks like they’re using a phone app to check and not an actual meter.
Although I did just notice they’re about 2-3 weeks into flower and you definitely want to be around 800ppfd.

Doesn’t look like any of the fan leaves are curling or burning which wouldn’t make me think over feeding.

Should be supplementing cal mag weekly not just 1/2 tbl of epsom when feeding.

Hey @Yeti1 !
Must be concerned but dont have to worry so much. We all together will get it done.

Also, I guarantee its nutrients problem but to address why? we need more info about

  1. Perhaps where does leaf damage happened? Closer to the lowest and the oldest leaf? or Closer to newly growing leaf on top? If its everywhere, where is the worst?
  2. What type of medium (soil) are you using? I mean is it peat? coco? stonewool?
  3. How big is your pot?
  4. Is the surface of medium (soil) dry or wet? If unsure, pictures can help too!
  5. Can you water plants and get a fresh drain. Measure the pH and EC of the drain?
  6. Lastly, what nutrients are you using?

Besides, nutrients and rootzone pH and soil water content, you are in a safe range. No need to worry other things, in my opionion😉

This is toxicity, mg def doesn’t look like that.
What you have here is rust spots, flowering looks stuned, burnt edges, discoloration of the leaves
Raise the ppfd, lower your nutes input until they pull out of it if any.

Haha, not really sure what I am doing, first time growing. How much ppfd do you usually use for your plants?

I’ll definitely lower the lights, I usually have it hanging about 22 inches away from the plant. I’ll also try Cal Mag and see if it helps out! First time growing so I’m new to most of this stuff.

I’m in the camp they just need some food. Once they’re done stretching, 800-1000ppfd at the canopy is pretty good. Mag toxicity is pretty hard to reach and I don’t personally see any other signs of overfeeding. I’d say up the calmag and see if it goes away.

I don’t add anything beside the gaia green stuff and its already mixed into the soil. I just use tap water, I let the water bubble for a few days before using it and I like to keep the ph level mostly around 6.3-6.5 when watering. I’ll lower the ph level and up the ppfd for sure.

Just remember…
You really shouldn’t try a whole bunch of fixes at once. I know it sucks, but its best to try one solution based on theory, then wait.
This way you have actually identified the issue.

FWIW, I’m on team hungry plant, lol.
Mg also wouldnt hurt. Epsom salt dissolved in water is a cheap, quick, and easy source of magnesium.

Hey man, i use gaia green too, definitely need to know the size of your pots and how big your plants are.

When growing in promix mixed with gaia green dry nutrients, container size relative to your plant size plays a big factor in how it grows.

Since you are a newer grower i would suggest bigger pots to give you more leeway. The bigger the pot the more nutrients are available to your plant without Top-dressing.

If you use smaller pots top dressing is a must.

Also if you vegged your plant for a decent amount of time in your pot and then just put it into flower there’s a good chance some of the nutrients are depleted.

I personally top dress more nutrients at least 2 times in flower, sometimes every two weeks even. All depends on the situation.

My guess is you have depleted your soil of nutrients and just need to top dress more in.
Since you are 2-3 weeks into flower you might want to top dress with power bloom instead of the all purpose. General rule of thumb when top dressing is 1 tbls per gallon of soil. I use small 2 gallon pots so i top dress 2 tbls per pot when i top dress.

Also DO NOT water to run off in order to get the ph of your run off water. This is good to do if you are NOT running organics. When running organics this just runs some of your nutrients right out of your soil.
You dont actually need to ph your water if your using promix and gaia green, it buffers your water for you.

Hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions.

Mhm now I think about it, maybe I am over think a little too much. I definitely wanna wait before buy other products.

I use 5 Gallon fabric pot. the last time I transplanted them was almost 2 months ago.

Yesterday I scraped about 2in of soil and added more soil and worm casting with 5 tbls for each 5 gallon pots. I already added the all purpose gaia green to it instead of the power bloom.

Should I add power bloom on top of that or should I wait and see? or should I just rescrape what I added in and replace it with the power bloom instead?

With a rich and good balanced soil, amended rightly. A lot faster when you use dirt cheap supermarket ones like me ^^

I was happy to see that cal is not automatically linked for one time, but it’s important to remember to stoners something behind this new age mantra : due to the mobility of Mag, the first symptoms should be only seen in old storage leaves redirecting the hell to shoots.

If the shoots are directly fucked first, it can’t be Mag and the sole culprit to hunt. But Mn, and fossilizing the buds and the seeds with insane cal rates don’t help much in this case (to underline the necessity to get out from the cal-mag martingale, that is more a makeup).

I’d scrape and get your extra P in there, you’re entering flower. Jmho

I would wait to add power bloom after adding the all purpose or you can scrape half out and add the other half power bloom. You are a few weeks into flower so some power bloom should be good to help your buds grow.
