Ya so The Romeo & Juliet from JLP was the same cross with the C99 and NYCD but with the parents switched. So one was called Romeo and the other was called Juliet. He wanted to do that so ppl could grow out the progeny and learn about what each parent does to the offspring. That’s pretty cool and I would love to replicate something like that in the future once I find a solid keeper male. Got some hunting to do first though.
@NorthNorthNugs since there’s such interest here, and we’re getting a lot of pageviews that will hopefully turn into some recollections from the old heads, I’m going to keep digging for info on turn of the millennium strains. Today I just came across this thread on Mr Nice forums where someone posted a full scan of the 2000-era Heaven’s Stairway catalog. I don’t have a MN forums login but might have to make one to view and download these:
That’s awesome! If you acquire the documents make sure you repost them here. I would love to take a look at them.
Ya, hopefully! I love strain history and old forum history.
Curious about the sag blueberry, does it differ greatly from the DJ Short Blueberry?
Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t Sagaramtha the distributor for DJ Short initially ?
@sprinklememaynee @OriginalDankmaster96
Yep, DJ worked with a few people to stabilize and distribute the Blueberry, this is the best concise summary I’ve seen:
“DJ used BOEL gear to create his blue line.
years later, DJ met up with Tony and that’s how Sag got blueberry and why Sag was able to make bubbleberry and blue thunder. Sagarmatha took 6 phenos of blueberry, and after a lot of work, Tony stabilized and cleaned up the line to get blueberry and flow. Dj later got with Henk and thats how Dutch Passion got the blueberry and the “blue lines” (the different phenos of blueberry: flo, blue heaven, blue velvet and blue moonshine). Henk stabilized each pheno into separate seed-offerings, at the turn of the century.”
Here’s a post describing strains developed by the old OG user Memyselfandi, who a lot of folks seem to remember in discussions of OG 1.0, they’re back on as @Memy but haven’t posted much:
Amazing, this thread has really started to quench my thirst for history and the genetics that were around. So much history.
I have never had the chance to grow any of the DJ Short Blueberry, but have tried some of the other blueberries out there. Would love to get a hold of some of DJ’s blueberry if ever the opportunity arises.
Yo, that’s crazy that they archived the old OG strain guide! A few of my reviews are on there(dating myself bad here). Here I am reviewing DJ’s Blueberry back in ‘05.
That’s fuckin awesome dude!
