Sunshine Daydream f1 open pollination

Looking excellent
Don’t feel bad, I struggle terribly in small pots with organic soil

Yeh it’s been a PITA! lol

These are the smallest pots I’ve ever used for organic soil. I normally use 5 gallon (or bigger) pots for organic soil but I didn’t have enough space in my veg room to put them all in 5g pots. So they are in 1-2 gallon pots. My intention was to flower them out pretty quickly but they got stuck in the veg room for like a month+ longer than I planned so they were already way too big for the pot size before they even went into flower. I ended up chopping like the top half of each plant off because they were so overgrown. So I’ve been behind the 8 ball since the start. lol

I’ve done coco runs in 1-2 gallon pots before and in hindsight that’s what I should have used as a grow medium for this run. It would’ve been a lot easier to keep them healthy.

Basically the end of week 10 (in 12 hours…lol).

Not really much to update. They’re all fading hard. I would have harvested everything before now if this wasn’t seeded.

I’m thinking another week should do it. I’ll probably start cutting a few sample buds to check seed ripeness some time next week. Might even cut a couple buds this weekend. I can see some fully ripe seeds. The ‘92 kush looks like it still has seeds that need to mature. A lot of the sunshine daydream look close to ready. We will see…

I started moving some other plants into the flower room too. One of them is the sunshine daydream #9. I have horsebadorites cut and #11 almost ready for flower too. And #10 was just replanted into a bigger pot to get ready for flower.

I am having a heck of a time getting cuts from #1 to root. The mother plant was kind of locked out from being over-watered. It’s a slow drinker. Not sure if that’s why or what.
I got the mom to recover now so i’m going to try taking more cuts. I really want to get that one into flower! Figures… lol.

Here’s the other half of the flower room as of now. More will be added soon.

I’ll be posting more updates on some of the other strains I’ll have in flower over in my grow thread

I’ll be flowering:

  • Sunshine daydream (horse’s cut, #9, #10, #11 and #1 once it roots. Possibly #4 too. I have a rooted clone. I’ll decide after I harvest #4)
  • venom breath (2 different phenos)
  • cannavore’s black triangle x counterfeit kush
  • gelato #78 (old keeper mom of mine)
  • Sapphire OG
  • Tony green’s gorilla bubble (old keeper mom I found from his first release)
  • Bobgrow’s ‘92 Kush
  • Peanut butter breath (#2 pheno. my keeper from last run)
  • Karma’s brotherhood OG (old keeper mom of mine)

I might be forgetting a couple.

I might let some (or all) of them go 12 . I’ll see how things look when I take a couple sample buds next week.

I can definitely let them go 12 weeks but that might be about the max I can go. I have like 13 or 14 plants in veg getting ready for flower. I can fit another 4 under the one light with 5 plants under it now. The other 9 will need to go under my other light (that the open pollination is using now). Those 9-10 plants in veg still have at least a week, maybe two, before they’re ready for flower. But I don’t want them to get too big on me or it’ll be a challenge to fit them all under the light. And I really need to get some sensi flower ASAP. I rely on it.

End of week 11. I will be harvesting everything this week. It’s time.

Plus I noticed a small amount of thrip damage on a couple leaves. I treated the new plants with spinosad but not the fully mature open pollination plants. So I want to get the open pollination plants out of there so I can ensure I get rid of the thrips before the new plants get too far into flower.

Not really looking forward to processing all of these plants alone… lol

Normally I strip all the branches off a plant, wet trim them, cut the buds off the branches and use drying nets (i usually don’t have space in my drying room to hang everything still on the branches). It’s a time consuming process, as I’m sure y’all know.

But I was thinking that since I don’t really need to trim, I can just strip the fan leaves off each plant and hang the whole plant to dry. Then process the seeds from one plant at a time once they are dry.

Sounds like a plan, Stan!

I’m super lazy with seed plants myself.
I’d be willing to bet the vast majority of us are. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Shame to hear about the thrips I just dealt with those punks myself. Ended up cutting my Suge Pure Kush R1 seed increase 2-3 weeks before they finished because it was so bad.

Spray every 2-3 days for the first week and every 3-5 the week after that. Afterwards you have to alternate with something else like Azamax or pyrethins is what I was told so they don’t develop resistance. Don’t do this on any flower that’d you’d smoke.

Thats the nice thing with seeded plants, drying isnt as particular as long as they get dry haha. Nice grow and OP - great to see more SSDD f2s being made.
