Hey guys n gales! Just a quick update. The 3 gallon fabric pots came in so today I made a trip into town for some stuff to recharge and buffer my recycled supersoil.
So its:
Potting soil
Compost
Peat Moss
Worm castings
Blood meal
Bone meal
Lime
Fish/kelp
Hardwood ash
Charcoal
Worms
And @Tinytuttle recommended some of this product called Bio Live. So I have some of that on the way. Also knf practices will be used. Happy growing!

After this incorporates for a few days I will then up pot the plants for more updates

Awesome! bone meal, blood meal and worm castings will heat up your mix, feel it first with your arms so your plants don’t get pissed at you! Newbie telling an experienced “pro”! lol!

I understand. It’ll be ok. If there was a bunch of leaves or maure in it then ya it would burn the plants for sure

Hi corey

Are you going to use that soil mix without cooking it first?

Honestly, I do mixes like that with a bunch of mycco innoculants and let it cook for about 2 weeks. A month is better, but I think that mix is gonna rock. Just don’t sprout a seed in it lol

Yes sir. These mixes have been working for me lately. I guess we will know soon enough. @anon93244739 I think it’s gonna rock too

Looks awesome @corey just go very light on the blood meal though like stated earlier on down the road when the blood meal is exhausted maybe look into the cover crop blends they add long sustains N to your mix .

That’s good advice. Ill do that. And the cover crop thing for organics is brilliant

@corey I using this as cover crop, I’m loving it. Great germination rate. Its made for cannabis, the brand is cannaisseurs lol

Granted I started it in my containers waaaaay later than I should have, but next round I’m going to have some pre grown out containers before popping seeds

That’s a great idea. I’m gonna try a deer food plot blent. It’s got root vegetables and clover. Hopefully that will work.

I have read that clovers, alfalfa and yarrow all will increase/broaden terpene profiles.

That’s above my pay grade bud. But that’s called growing vegematic or something I don’t remember. I’m no scientist but those two plants are high in protein and I don’t know how proteins affect plants. If you could explain I’m sure peeps would be fascinated by it

I’m not sure how it actually all works. But I learned about companion planting my tomatoes (carrots, marigolds, thyme, oregano and borage were the 5 best I found for making them taste sweeter and just more balanced, IME. The book is called “why tomatoes love carrots”) and it made them taste better, I dont see why cannabis would be any different, just gotta see which companions do it.

Hi @anon93244739, @Tinytuttle, and @corey, can they be put in pots as well or only no-till beds? Cover crops? They all seem to stick to surface and don’t go too deep, right? Knew about basil, oregano and lavender though…Thanks.

I’m just starting with companion planting cannabis, but I have been companion planting tomatoes in 5 gallon pots for a decade without a problem.
