The Spice must grow. Blessed be the Little Maker!

@SaintAliasKnife where did you find those tall-skinny cloth pots for the octopups?! :star_struck:

oh, they’re from 247garden.

the 2 gallon is 12" tall with 7" diameter. so now I have the proportions of the Octopot 6gall sleeve over 3 gallon rez and the height from Chris’s statement of not going shorter that 12" for moisture strata.

Or I’m howling at the moon.

about an even chance on that.

Hello the house. been a bit and I got pics. did some things.

all plant are on final containers. moved to the tent on a 18/6 sched. as of today the 2 older photos on the tall pots are EC 1.3 of 15-5-15 (3.6gr/gall) + 1gr/gall each of gypsum and epsom. PH 6. I’ve had to turn on a radiator in the room to increase the temp to 78-79F during lights on. Seems to help.

I assembled and engaged the siphoning refill. Works great if I use eyeballs

Power D on the left bellow is perking up in the new digs and food and thickening its stem. a LOT of roots.

Bubblehead above wasnt happy with the cold. she’s slowly looking better.

the survivor Sureshot got planted into a 2 gall today. Half of a rez with half strength feed until the roots hit water.

Dropped a seed on the 7th and today I stuck in dirt. for funsies.

That’s all I got.

Wow! Nice grows @SaintAliasKnife. Just spent the last hour ogling your gardens.
Any reason you started using solo cups for seedlings?
What media are you using in the netcups?

Thanks!
John

hey thanks.

convenience.

same as the pot. same as the solocup. HP Pro Mix + 20% vermiculite.maybe a little Great White powder if I’m feeling fancy. Packed in a little tight most times it stays until end of grow.

So you decided hydroton was not the way to go?

I didnt see much use for it. they didnt make a difference for me. at most maybe a thin layer of rock wool in the bottom of the netcup could conceivably have some use in keeping the media in place to assure capillary transfer.

Hello the house! Time waits for no one…as we perceive it…lol.

Did some math, it told me I needed to flip to flower. 2 cycles ago flipped to 12/12. Today, they’re showing sex. In a week or two, I’ll drop them to the floor.

EC 1.3 of 15-5-15 (3.6gr/gall) + 1gr/gall each of gypsum and epsom. PH 6.

Power D - (on the right).

Plant is ~19" tall from the top of the pot.

BubbleHead on the left. they’ve been steadily drinking. Both sleeves are wet on the bottom. Both are being LST-ed to spread out the canopy.

Since the little stunted Sureshot needed a little more time before flipping, I moved her back to the closet.

She was topped before I moved her. roots are near the water so she’s got a little time.

Been thinking about fermentation. tangwena’s method. I figured it’s something I might have to do since it takes so much time and uses up the flower. Could be interesting. next harvest should be the ides of march, lol.

Oh yea, transplanted my basil into a octo. osmocote and plain water.

thats all I got

Looking really nice there!

Your LST work is doing the job, photon flood to every node and “EC 1.3 of 15-5-15 (3.6gr/gall) + 1gr/gall each of gypsum and epsom. PH 6.” is spot on.

Well done, Hurry up Ides of March!

Thank you @GrouchyOldMan and @Not-Notjosh.

Been debating a trellis once I drop them to the floor… As a means to even out the canopy even more.

Silly idea?

Yes , I like pesto. :joy:

I’d love to see what you do with a trellis :spider_web:
Especially if it’s a silly one

Ive got much sillier trellis ideas coming soon, (to a fridge near me) :waffle:🪴

no. not a silly idea.
yes to this. not only will the trellis serve to spread the plants out, but also hold up the branches when the colas get heavy later in flower.

Here’s a simple, and not so silly, trellis idea for you…

I used it as a ScrOG, but if you raise the tomato cage up, I think it would work great as a trellis.

Oh, that’s clever. I like that. Looks to be a good solution for open spaces. I had purchased a couple of 3x3 trellises for my 3x3 tent a year ago. I think I’ll hunt them down and install one this weekend.

Little Sureshot this morning.

Roots hit the water and she is topped.

also, been looking into Budswel

Went and ordered some dry version. I think I’ll give it a whirl and see what happens. I know, I’m complicating my feed. …cant help it, la donna e mobile.

quick update. have the pics, might as well.

Tent today. Bubble head on the left, Power D on the right. Week 1 Day 5 Flower

Power D flower1

Bubblehead flower

Sureshot. The little plant who wants to live. Looks a little droopy, needed food so I watered her. Good gods I hate hand watering.

I think i’m planting them too deep. Sureshot above and the Durban Poison below took weeks to pop up.

Durban pop up on 12/24. Almost called her Brian.

thats that.

New year, don’t see a reason to start a new thread. got some pics and I intend to post them.

Tent is getting packed. Gobbles (Sureshot) got too tall for its section and had to move to the flower tent at almost week 3 veg. front and center picture below.

Back 2 plants (Power D on right, Bubble Head on left) reached the height they were before I dropped them week ago? The stretch is real.

Gobbles is a drop in fit.

Power D -

Frosting up

Bubblehead

Frosting as well

Durban was planted and topped at node 3.

all on the same feed. Per gallon: 3.5gr 15-5-15, 1gr each of gypsum and epsom.PH5.9-6.2 EC1.3 over baseline.

plants look nice and healthy. nice job.

one recommendation. prop the “gobbles” up on something to get it up closer to the light. the taller plants are going to crowd it out in another week or two.
